Lamentations 3

Big screen
  1. 1I AM the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
    Big screen
  2. 2He has led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light.
    Big screen
  3. 3Surely against me is he turned; he turns his hand against me all the day.
    Big screen
  4. 4My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
    Big screen
  5. 5He has built against me, and compassed me with gall and travail.
    Big screen
  6. 6He has set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old.
    Big screen
  7. 7He has hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he has made my chain heavy.
    Big screen
  8. 8Also when I cry and shout, he shuts out my prayer.
    Big screen
  9. 9He has enclosed my ways with hewn stone, he has made my paths crooked.
    Big screen
  10. 10He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places.
    Big screen
  11. 11He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he has made me desolate.
    Big screen
  12. 12He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
    Big screen
  13. 13He has caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins.
    Big screen
  14. 14I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day.
    Big screen
  15. 15He has filled me with bitterness, he has made me drunken with wormwood.
    Big screen
  16. 16He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he has covered me with ashes.
    Big screen
  17. 17And you have removed my soul far off from peace: I forgotten about prosperity.
    Big screen
  18. 18And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD:
    Big screen
  19. 19Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
    Big screen
  20. 20My soul has them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
    Big screen
  21. 21This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
    Big screen
  22. 22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
    Big screen
  23. 23They are new every morning: great is your faithfulness.
    Big screen
  24. 24The LORD is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
    Big screen
  25. 25The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
    Big screen
  26. 26It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
    Big screen
  27. 27It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth.
    Big screen
  28. 28He sits alone and keeps silence, because he has borne it upon him.
    Big screen
  29. 29He puts his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
    Big screen
  30. 30He gives his cheek to him that strikes him: he is filled full with reproach.
    Big screen
  31. 31For the LORD will not cast off for ever:
    Big screen
  32. 32But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies.
    Big screen
  33. 33For he does not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.
    Big screen
  34. 34To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth.
    Big screen
  35. 35To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High,
    Big screen
  36. 36To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approves not.
    Big screen
  37. 37Who is he that says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord commands it not?
    Big screen
  38. 38Out of the mouth of the most High proceeds not evil and good?
    Big screen
  39. 39Wherefore does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
    Big screen
  40. 40Let us search and try our ways, and return to the LORD.
    Big screen
  41. 41Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.
    Big screen
  42. 42We have transgressed and have rebelled: you have not pardoned.
    Big screen
  43. 43You have covered with anger, and persecuted us: you have slain, you have not pitied.
    Big screen
  44. 44You have covered yourself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through.
    Big screen
  45. 45You have made us as the waste and refuse in the midst of the people.
    Big screen
  46. 46All our enemies have opened their mouths against us.
    Big screen
  47. 47Fear and a snare has come upon us, desolation and destruction.
    Big screen
  48. 48Mine eye runs down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
    Big screen
  49. 49Mine eye trickes down, and ceases not, without any intermission.
    Big screen
  50. 50Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven.
    Big screen
  51. 51Mine eye affects mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.
    Big screen
  52. 52Mine enemies chased me sore, like a bird, without cause.
    Big screen
  53. 53They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and cast a stone upon me.
    Big screen
  54. 54Waters flowed over mine head; then I said, I am cut off.
    Big screen
  55. 55I called upon your name, O LORD, out of the low dungeon.
    Big screen
  56. 56You have heard my voice: hide not yours ear at my breathing, at my cry.
    Big screen
  57. 57You drew near in the day that I called upon you: you said, Fear not.
    Big screen
  58. 58O LORD, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
    Big screen
  59. 59O LORD, you have seen my wrong: judge you my cause.
    Big screen
  60. 60You have seen all their vengeance and all their imaginations against me.
    Big screen
  61. 61You have heard their reproach, O LORD, and all their imaginations against me;
    Big screen
  62. 62The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
    Big screen
  63. 63Behold their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their music.
    Big screen
  64. 64Render unto them a recompence, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
    Big screen
  65. 65Give them sorrow of heart, your curse unto them.
    Big screen
  66. 66Persecute and destroy them in anger from under the heavens of the LORD.
    Big screen
