1 Samuel 16

English: And the LORD said unto Samuel, How long will you mourn for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? fill yours horn with oil, and go, I will send you to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം യഹോവ ശമൂവേലിനോടു: യിസ്രായേലിലെ രാജസ്ഥാനത്തിൽനിന്നു ഞാൻ ശൌലിനെ തള്ളിയെന്നറിഞ്ഞിരിക്കെ നീ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു എത്രത്തോളം ദുഃഖിക്കും? കൊമ്പിൽ തൈലം നിറെച്ചു പുറപ്പെടുക; ഞാൻ നിന്നെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമ്യനായ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കും; അവന്റെ മക്കളിൽ ഞാൻ ഒരു രാജാവിനെ കണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

English: And Samuel said, How can I go? if Saul hear it, he will kill me. And the LORD said, Take an heifer with you, and say, I am come to sacrifice to the LORD.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു ശമൂവേൽ: ഞാൻ എങ്ങനെ പോകും? ശൌൽ കേട്ടാൽ എന്നെ കൊല്ലും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. എന്നാറെ യഹോവ: നീ ഒരു പശുക്കിടാവിനെയും കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു: ഞാൻ യഹോവെക്കു യാഗം കഴിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറക.

English: And call Jesse to the sacrifice, and I will show you what you shall do: and you shall anoint unto me him whom I name unto you.

Malayalam: യിശ്ശായിയെയും യാഗത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിക്ക; നീ ചെയ്യേണ്ടതു എന്തെന്നു ഞാൻ അന്നേരം നിന്നോടു അറിയിക്കും; ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞുതരുന്നവനെ നീ എനിക്കായിട്ടു അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്യേണം.

English: And Samuel did that which the LORD spoke, and came to Bethlehem. And the elders of the town trembled at his coming, and said, Come you peaceably?

Malayalam: യഹോവ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ശമൂവേൽ ചെയ്തു, ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ ചെന്നു; പട്ടണത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാർ അവന്റെ വരവിങ്കൽ വിറെച്ചുകൊണ്ടു അവനെ എതിരേറ്റു: നിന്റെ വരവു ശുഭം തന്നേയോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

English: And he said, Peaceably: I am come to sacrifice unto the LORD: sanctify yourselves, and come with me to the sacrifice. And he sanctified Jesse and his sons, and called them to the sacrifice.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു അവൻ: ശുഭം തന്നേ; ഞാൻ യഹോവെക്കു യാഗം കഴിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു; നിങ്ങളെ തന്നേ ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു എന്നോടുകൂടെ യാഗത്തിന്നു വരുവിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അവൻ യിശ്ശായിയെയും അവന്റെ മക്കളെയും ശുദ്ധീകരിച്ചു അവരെയും യാഗത്തിന്നു ക്ഷണിച്ചു.

English: And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD's anointed is before him.

Malayalam: അവർ വന്നപ്പോൾ അവൻ എലീയാബിനെ കണ്ടിട്ടു: യഹോവയുടെ മുമ്പാകെ അവന്റെ അഭിഷിക്തൻ ഇതാ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart.

Malayalam: യഹോവ ശമൂവേലിനോടു: അവന്റെ മുഖമോ പൊക്കമോ നോക്കരുതു; ഞാൻ അവനെ തള്ളിയിരിക്കുന്നു. മുനഷ്യൻ നോക്കുന്നതുപോലെയല്ല; മനുഷ്യൻ കണ്ണിന്നു കാണുന്നതു നോക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ഹൃദയത്തെ നോക്കുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

English: Then Jesse called Abinadab, and made him pass before Samuel. And he said, Neither has the LORD chosen this.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ യിശ്ശായി അബീനാദാബിനെ വിളിച്ചു ശമൂവേലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വരുത്തി; എന്നാറെ അവൻ: യഹോവ ഇവനെയും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then Jesse made Shammah to pass by. And he said, Neither has the LORD chosen this.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ യിശ്ശായി ശമ്മയെയും വരുത്തി. ഇവനെയും യഹോവ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു അവൻ പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Again, Jesse made seven of his sons to pass before Samuel. And Samuel said unto Jesse, The LORD has not chosen these.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ യിശ്ശായി ഏഴു പുത്രന്മാരെ ശമൂവേലിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വരുത്തി; എന്നാൽ ശമൂവേൽ യിശ്ശായിയോടു: യഹോവ ഇവരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തിട്ടില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Samuel said unto Jesse, Are here all your children? And he said, There remains yet the youngest, and, behold, he keeps the sheep. And Samuel said unto Jesse, Send and fetch him: for we will not sit down till he comes here.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ പുത്രന്മാർ എല്ലാവരുമായോ എന്നു ശമൂവേൽ ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു അവൻ: ഇനി, ഉള്ളതിൽ ഇളയവൻ ഉണ്ടു; അവൻ ആടുകളെ മേയ്ക്കയാകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ശമൂവേൽ യിശ്ശായിയോടു: ആളയച്ചു അവനെ വരുത്തുക; അവൻ വന്നിട്ടല്ലാതെ നാം പന്തിക്കിരിക്കയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was rosy, and likewise of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

Malayalam: ഉടനെ അവൻ ആളയച്ചു അവനെ വരുത്തി; എന്നാൽ അവൻ പവിഴനിറമുള്ളവനും സുനേത്രനും കോമളരൂപിയും ആയിരുന്നു. അപ്പോൾ യഹോവ: എഴുന്നേറ്റു ഇവനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്ക; ഇവൻ തന്നേ ആകുന്നു എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

English: Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ശമൂവേൽ തൈലക്കൊമ്പു എടുത്തു അവന്റെ സഹോദരന്മാരുടെ നടുവിൽ വെച്ചു അവനെ അഭിഷേകം ചെയ്തു; യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു അന്നുമുതൽ ദാവീദിന്മേൽ വന്നു. ശമൂവേൽ എഴുന്നേറ്റു രാമയിലേക്കു പോയി.

English: But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ യഹോവയുടെ ആത്മാവു ശൌലിനെ വിട്ടുമാറി; യഹോവ അയച്ച ഒരു ദൂരാത്മാവു അവനെ ബാധിച്ചു.

English: And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubles you.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ ശൌലിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ അവനോടു: ദൈവം അയച്ച ഒരു ദൂരാത്മാവു നിന്നെ ബാധിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

English: Let our lord now command your servants, which are before you, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon you, that he shall play with his hand, and you shall be well.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ കിന്നരവായനയിൽ നിപുണനായ ഒരുത്തനെ അന്വേഷിപ്പാൻ തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു അടിയങ്ങൾക്കു കല്പന തരേണം; എന്നാൽ ദൈവത്തിങ്കൽ നിന്നു ദുരാത്മാവു തിരുമേനിമേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ അവൻ കൈകൊണ്ടു വായിക്കയും തിരുമേനിക്കു ഭേദം വരികയും ചെയ്യും എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Saul said unto his servants, Provide me now a man that can play well, and bring him to me.

Malayalam: ശൌൽ തന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാരോടു: കിന്നരവായനയിൽ നിപുണനായ ഒരുത്തനെ അന്വേഷിച്ചുകൊണ്ടുവരുവിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

English: Then answered one of the servants, and said, Behold, I have seen a son of Jesse the Bethlehemite, that is cunning in playing, and a mighty valiant man, and a man of war, and prudent in matters, and a comely person, and the LORD is with him.

Malayalam: ബാല്യക്കാരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ: ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമ്യനായ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ ഒരു മകനെ ഞാൻ കണ്ടിട്ടുണ്ടു; അവൻ കിന്നരവായനയിൽ നിപുണനും പരാക്രമശാലിയും യോദ്ധാവും വാക്ചാതുര്യമുള്ളവനും കോമളനും ആകുന്നു; യഹോവയും അവനോടുകൂടെ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Wherefore Saul sent messengers unto Jesse, and said, Send me David your son, which is with the sheep.

Malayalam: എന്നാറെ ശൌൽ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ദൂതന്മാരെ അയച്ചു: ആടുകളോടു കൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്ന നിന്റെ മകൻ ദാവീദിനെ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കേണം എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

English: And Jesse took an ass laden with bread, and a bottle of wine, and a kid, and sent them by David his son unto Saul.

Malayalam: യിശ്ശായി ഒരു കഴുതയെ വരുത്തി, അതിന്റെ പുറത്തു അപ്പം, ഒരു തുരുത്തി വീഞ്ഞു, ഒരു കോലാട്ടിൻ കുട്ടി എന്നിവ കയറ്റി തന്റെ മകൻ ദാവീദ്‌വശം ശൌലിന്നു കൊടുത്തയച്ചു.

English: And David came to Saul, and stood before him: and he loved him greatly; and he became his armour bearer.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് ശൌലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു അവന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നിന്നു; അവന്നു അവനോടു വളരെ സ്നേഹമായി; അവൻ അവന്റെ ആയുധവാഹകനായ്തീർന്നു.

English: And Saul sent to Jesse, saying, Let David, I pray you, stand before me; for he has found favour in my sight.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ ശൌൽ യിശ്ശായിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ആളയച്ചു: ദാവീദിനോടു എനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടം തോന്നിയിരിക്കകൊണ്ടു അവൻ എന്റെ അടുക്കൽ താമസിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറയിച്ചു.

English: And it came to pass, when the evil spirit from God was upon Saul, that David took an harp, and played with his hand: so Saul was refreshed, and was well, and the evil spirit departed from him.

Malayalam: ദൈവത്തിന്റെ പക്കൽനിന്നു ദുരാത്മാവു ശൌലിന്മേൽ വരുമ്പോൾ ദാവീദ് കിന്നരം എടുത്തു വായിക്കും; ശൌലിന്നു ആശ്വാസവും സുഖവും ഉണ്ടാകും; ദുരാത്മാവു അവനെ വിട്ടുമാറും.
