2 Samuel 17

English: Moreover Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Let me now choose out twelve thousand men, and I will arise and pursue after David this night:

Malayalam: അനന്തരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതു: ഞാൻ പന്തീരായിരം പേരെ തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു പുറപ്പെട്ടു ഇന്നു രാത്രി തന്നേ ദാവീദിനെ പിന്തുടരട്ടെ.

English: And I will come upon him while he is weary and weak handed, and will make him afraid: and all the people that are with him shall flee; and I will strike the king only:

Malayalam: ക്ഷീണിച്ചും അധൈര്യപ്പെട്ടും ഇരിക്കുന്ന അവനെ ഞാൻ ആക്രമിച്ചു ഭ്രമിപ്പിക്കും; അപ്പോൾ അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും ഓടിപ്പോകും; ഞാൻ രാജാവിനെ മാത്രം വെട്ടിക്കളയും.

English: And I will bring back all the people unto you: the man whom you seek is as if all returned: so all the people shall be in peace.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ ഞാൻ സകലജനത്തെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടക്കിവരുത്തും; നീ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നതുപോലെ എല്ലാവരും മടങ്ങിവരുമ്പോൾ സകലജനവും സമാധാനത്തോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

English: And the saying pleased Absalom well, and all the elders of Israel.

Malayalam: ഈ വാക്കു അബ്ശാലോമിന്നും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാർക്കൊക്കെയും വളരെ ബോധിച്ചു.

English: Then said Absalom, Call now Hushai the Archite also, and let us hear likewise what he says.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അബ്ശാലോം: അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായിയെ വിളിക്ക; അവന്റെ അഭിപ്രായവും കേൾക്കാമല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And when Hushai was come to Absalom, Absalom spoke unto him, saying, Ahithophel has spoken after this manner: shall we do after his saying? if not; speak you.

Malayalam: ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോം അവനോടു: ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ നാം ചെയ്കയോ? അല്ലെങ്കിൽ നീ പറക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Hushai said unto Absalom, The counsel that Ahithophel has given is not good at this time.

Malayalam: ഹൂശായി അബ്ശാലോമിനോടു പറഞ്ഞതെന്തെന്നാൽ: അഹീഥോഫെൽ ഈ പ്രാവശ്യം പറഞ്ഞ ആലോചന നന്നല്ല.

English: For, said Hushai, you know your father and his men, that they be mighty men, and they be chafed in their minds, as a bear robbed of her whelps in the field: and your father is a man of war, and will not lodge with the people.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ അപ്പനും അവന്റെ ആളുകളും വീരന്മാരും കാട്ടിൽ കുട്ടികൾ കവർന്നുപോയ കരടിയെപ്പോലെ ഉഗ്രമാനസന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നുവല്ലോ. നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ യോദ്ധാവാകുന്നു. അവൻ ജനത്തോടുകൂടെ രാപാർക്കയില്ല.

English: Behold, he is hid now in some pit, or in some other place: and it will come to pass, when some of them be overthrown at the first, that whosoever hears it will say, There is a slaughter among the people that follow Absalom.

Malayalam: അവൻ ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരു ഗുഹയിലോ മറ്റു വല്ല സ്ഥലത്തോ ഒളിച്ചിരിക്കയായിരിക്കും; ആരംഭത്തിങ്കൽ തന്നേ ഇവരിൽ ചിലർ പട്ടുപോയാൽ അതു കേൾക്കുന്ന എല്ലാവരും അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ പക്ഷക്കാരിൽ സംഹാരമുണ്ടായി എന്നു പറയും.

English: And he also that is valiant, whose heart is as the heart of a lion, shall utterly melt: for all Israel knows that your father is a mighty man, and they which be with him are valiant men.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ സീംഹഹൃദയംപോലെ ഹൃദയമുള്ള ശൂരനും കൂടെ അശേഷം ഉരുകിപ്പോകും; നിന്റെ അപ്പൻ വീരനും അവനോടുകൂടെയുള്ളവർ ശൂരന്മാരും എന്നു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലും അറിയുന്നു.

English: Therefore I counsel that all Israel be generally gathered unto you, from Dan even to Beersheba, as the sand that is by the sea for multitude; and that you go to battle in yours own person.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ ഞാൻ പറയുന്ന ആലോചന എന്തെന്നാൽ: ദാൻമുതൽ ബേർ-ശേബവരെ കടൽക്കരയിലെ മണൽപോലെ അസംഖ്യമായിരിക്കുന്ന യിസ്രായേലൊക്കെയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ഒന്നിച്ചു കൂടുകയും തിരുമേനി തന്നേ യുദ്ധത്തിന്നു എഴുന്നെള്ളുകയും വേണം.

English: So shall we come upon him in some place where he shall be found, and we will light upon him as the dew falls on the ground: and of him and of all the men that are with him there shall not be left so much as one.

Malayalam: അവനെ കാണുന്നേടത്തു നാം അവനെ ആക്രമിച്ചു മഞ്ഞു ഭൂമിയിൽ പൊഴിയുന്നതുപോലെ അവന്റെമേൽ ചെന്നു വീഴും; പിന്നെ അവനാകട്ടെ അവനോടു കൂടെയുള്ള എല്ലാവരിലും ഒരുത്തൻ പോലും ആകട്ടെ ശേഷിക്കയില്ല.

English: Moreover, if he be got into a city, then shall all Israel bring ropes to that city, and we will draw it into the river, until there be not one small stone found there.

Malayalam: അവൻ ഒരു പട്ടണത്തിൽ കടന്നുകൂടി എങ്കിലോ യിസ്രായേലെല്ലാം ആ പട്ടണത്തിന്നു കയറുകെട്ടി അവിടെ ഒരു ചെറിയ കല്ലുപോലും കാണാതാകുംവരെ അതിനെ നദിയിൽ വലിച്ചിട്ടുകളയും.

English: And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the LORD had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the LORD might bring evil upon Absalom.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ അബ്ശാലോമും എല്ലാ യിസ്രായേല്യരും: അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ ആലോചനയെക്കാൾ അർഖ്യനായ ഹൂശായിയുടെ ആലോചന നല്ലതു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു അനർത്ഥം വരേണ്ടതിന്നു അഹീഥോഫെലിന്റെ നല്ല ആലോചനയെ വ്യർത്ഥമാക്കുവാൻ യഹോവ നിശ്ചയിച്ചിരുന്നു.

English: Then said Hushai unto Zadok and to Abiathar the priests, Thus and thus did Ahithophel counsel Absalom and the elders of Israel; and thus and thus have I counselled.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം ഹൂശായി പുരോഹിതന്മാരായ സാദോക്കിനോടും അബ്യാഥാരിനോടു: ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ അബ്ശാലോമിനോടും യിസ്രായേൽമൂപ്പന്മാരോടും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞു; ഇന്നിന്നപ്രകാരം ഞാനും ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Now therefore send quickly, and tell David, saying, Lodge not this night in the plains of the wilderness, but speedily pass over; lest the king be swallowed up, and all the people that are with him.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ വേഗത്തിൽ ആളയച്ചു: ഈ രാത്രി മരുഭൂമിയിലേക്കുള്ള കടവിങ്കൽ പാർക്കരുതു; രാജാവിന്നും കൂടെയുള്ള സകലജനത്തിന്നും നാശം വരാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഏതു വിധേനയും അക്കരെ കടന്നുപോകേണം എന്നു ദാവീദിനെ അറിയിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz stayed by Enrogel; for they might not be seen to come into the city: and a maid servant went and told them; and they went and told king David.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ യോനാഥാനും അഹീമാസും പട്ടണത്തിൽ ചെന്നു തങ്ങളെത്തന്നേ കാണിപ്പാൻ പാടില്ലാതിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഏൻ-രോഗെലിന്നരികെ കാത്തുനില്ക്കും; ഒരു വേലക്കാരത്തി ചെന്നു അവരെ അറിയിക്കയും അവർ ചെന്നു ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിനെ അറിയിക്കയും ചെയ്യും;

English: Nevertheless a lad saw them, and told Absalom: but they went both of them away quickly, and came to a man's house in Bahurim, which had a well in his court; where they went down.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ഒരു ബാല്യക്കാരൻ അവരെ കണ്ടിട്ടു അബ്ശാലോമിന്നു അറിവു കൊടുത്തു. ആകയാൽ അവർ ഇരുവരും വേഗം പോയി ബഹുരീമിൽ ഒരു ആളുടെ വീട്ടിൽ കയറി; അവന്റെ മുറ്റത്തു ഒരു കിണറുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അവർ അതിൽ ഇറങ്ങി.

English: And the woman took and spread a covering over the well's mouth, and spread ground corn thereon; and the thing was not known.

Malayalam: വീട്ടുകാരത്തി മൂടുവിരി എടുത്തു കിണറ്റിന്റെ വായിന്മേൽ വിരിച്ചു അതിൽ കോതമ്പുതരി ചിക്കി; ഇങ്ങനെ കാര്യം അറിവാൻ ഇടയായില്ല.

English: And when Absalom's servants came to the woman to the house, they said, Where is Ahimaaz and Jonathan? And the woman said unto them, They be gone over the brook of water. And when they had sought and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.

Malayalam: അബ്ശാലോമിന്റെ ഭൃത്യന്മാർ ആ സ്ത്രീയുടെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നു: അഹീമാസും യോനാഥാനും എവിടെ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: അവർ നീർതോടു കടന്നുപോയി എന്നു സ്ത്രീ പറഞ്ഞു അവർ അന്വേഷിച്ചിട്ടു കാണായ്കയാൽ യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

English: And it came to pass, after they were departed, that they came up out of the well, and went and told king David, and said unto David, Arise, and pass quickly over the water: for thus has Ahithophel counselled against you.

Malayalam: അവർ പോയശേഷം അവർ കിണറ്റിൽ നിന്നു കയറിച്ചെന്നു ദാവീദ്‍രാജാവിനെ അറിയിച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വേഗം നദികടന്നു പോകുവിൻ; ഇന്നിന്നപ്രാകരം അഹീഥോഫെൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു വിരോധമായിട്ടു ആലോചന പറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then David arose, and all the people that were with him, and they passed over Jordan: by the morning light there lacked not one of them that was not gone over Jordan.

Malayalam: ഉടനെ ദാവീദും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനമൊക്കെയും എഴുന്നേറ്റു യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു; നേരം വെളുക്കുമ്പോഴെക്കു യോർദ്ദാൻ കടക്കാതെ ഒരുത്തൻ പോലും ശേഷിച്ചില്ല.

English: And when Ahithophel saw that his counsel was not followed, he saddled his ass, and arose, and got him home to his house, to his city, and put his household in order, and hanged himself, and died, and was buried in the tomb of his father.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അഹീഥോഫെൽ തന്റെ ആലോചന നടന്നില്ല എന്നു കണ്ടപ്പോൾ കഴുതപ്പുറത്തു കോപ്പിട്ടു കയറി തന്റെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ വീട്ടിലേക്കു ചെന്നു വീട്ടുകാര്യം ക്രമപ്പെടുത്തിയശേഷം കെട്ടി ഞാന്നു മരിച്ചു; അവന്റെ അപ്പന്റെ കല്ലറയിൽ അവനെ അടക്കം ചെയ്തു.

English: Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom passed over Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ ദാവീദ് മഹനയീമിൽ എത്തി. അബ്ശാലോമും കൂടെയുള്ള യിസ്രായേൽജനമൊക്കെയും യോർദ്ദാൻ കടന്നു.

English: And Absalom made Amasa captain of the host instead of Joab: which Amasa was a man's son, whose name was Ithra an Israelite, that went in to Abigail the daughter of Nahash, sister to Zeruiah Joab's mother.

Malayalam: അബ്ശാലോം യോവാബിന്നു പകരം അമാസയെ സേനാധിപതി ആക്കി; അമാസയോ നാഹാശിന്റെ മകളും യോവാബിന്റെ അമ്മ സെരൂയയുടെ സഹോദരിയും ആയ അബീഗലിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ യിത്രാ എന്നു പേരുള്ള ഒരു യിശ്മായേല്യൻ ചെന്നിട്ടു ഉണ്ടായ മകൻ.

English: So Israel and Absalom pitched in the land of Gilead.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ യിസ്രായേലും അബ്ശാലോമും ഗിലെയാദ് ദേശത്തു പാളയമിറങ്ങി.

English: And it came to pass, when David was come to Mahanaim, that Shobi the son of Nahash of Rabbah of the children of Ammon, and Machir the son of Ammiel of Lodebar, and Barzillai the Gileadite of Rogelim,

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് മഹനയീമിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ അമ്മോന്യരുടെ രബ്ബയിൽനിന്നു നാഹാശിന്റെ മകൻ ശോബി, ലോ-ദെബാരിൽനിന്നു അമ്മീയേലിന്റെ മകൻ മാഖീർ, രോഗെലീമിൽനിന്നു ഗിലെയാദ്യൻ ബർസില്ലായി എന്നിവർ

English: Brought beds, and basons, and earthen vessels, and wheat, and barley, and flour, and parched corn, and beans, and lentils, and parched vegetables,

Malayalam: കിടക്കകളും കിണ്ണങ്ങളും മൺപാത്രങ്ങളും ദാവീദിന്നും കൂടെയുള്ള ജനത്തിന്നും ഭക്ഷിപ്പാൻ, കോതമ്പു, യവം, മാവു, മലർ, അമരക്ക, പയർ, പരിപ്പു, തേൻ,

English: And honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of cattle, for David, and for the people that were with him, to eat: for they said, The people is hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness.

Malayalam: വെണ്ണ, ആടു, പശുവിൻ പാൽക്കട്ട എന്നിവയും കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; ജനം മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിശന്നും ദാഹിച്ചും ഇരിക്കുമല്ലോ എന്നു അവർ പറഞ്ഞു.
