Daniel 4

English: Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.

Malayalam: നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവു സർവ്വഭൂമിയിലും പാർക്കുന്ന സകലവംശങ്ങൾക്കും ജാതികൾക്കും ഭാഷക്കാർക്കും എഴുതുന്നതു: നിങ്ങൾക്കു ശുഭം വർദ്ധിച്ചുവരട്ടെ.

English: I thought it good to show the signs and wonders that the high God has wrought toward me.

Malayalam: അത്യുന്നതനായ ദൈവം എങ്കൽ പ്രവർത്തിച്ച അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കുന്നതു നന്നെന്നു എനിക്കു തോന്നിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: How great are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ അടയാളങ്ങൾ എത്ര വലിയവ! അവന്റെ അത്ഭുതങ്ങൾ എത്ര ശ്രേഷ്ഠമായവ! അവന്റെ രാജത്വം എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള രാജത്വവും അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യം തലമുറതലമുറയായുള്ളതും ആകുന്നു.

English: I Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:

Malayalam: നെബൂഖദ് നേസർ എന്ന ഞാൻ എന്റെ അരമനയിൽ സ്വൈരമായും എന്റെ രാജധാനിയിൽ സുഖമായും വസിച്ചിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഒരു സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു,

English: I saw a dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my head troubled me.

Malayalam: അതുനിമിത്തം ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, കിടക്കയിൽവെച്ചു എനിക്കുണ്ടായ നിരൂപണങ്ങളാലും ദർശനങ്ങളാലും വ്യാകുലപ്പെട്ടു.

English: Therefore made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.

Malayalam: സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ അർത്ഥം അറിയിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബാബേലിലെ സകലവിദ്വാന്മാരെയും എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ ഞാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

English: Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ മന്ത്രവാദികളും ആഭിചാരകന്മാരും കല്ദയരും ശകുനവാദികളും അകത്തു വന്നു; ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നം അവരോടു വിവരിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞു; അവർ അർത്ഥം അറിയിച്ചില്ല താനും.

English: But at the last Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of my God, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the dream, saying,

Malayalam: ഒടുവിൽ എന്റെ ദേവന്റെ നാമദേധപ്രകാരം ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സർ എന്നു പേരുള്ളവനും വിശുദ്ധദേവന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാവുള്ളവനുമായ ദാനീയേൽ എന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ വന്നു; അവനോടു ഞാൻ സ്വപ്നം വിവരിച്ചതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

English: O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no secret troubles you, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.

Malayalam: മന്ത്രവാദിശ്രേഷ്ഠനായ ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സരേ, വിശുദ്ധദേവന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാവു നിന്നിൽ ഉണ്ടെന്നും ഒരു രഹസ്യവും നിനക്കു വിഷമമല്ലെന്നും ഞാൻ അറിയുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ കണ്ട സ്വപ്നത്തിന്റെ താല്പര്യവും അർത്ഥവും പറക.

English: Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.

Malayalam: കിടക്കയിൽവെച്ചു എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടായ ദർശനമാവിതു: ഭൂമിയുടെ നടുവിൽ ഞാൻ ഒരു വൃക്ഷം കണ്ടു; അതു ഏറ്റവും ഉയരമുള്ളതായിരുന്നു.

English: The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth:

Malayalam: ആ വൃക്ഷം വളർന്നു ബലപ്പെട്ടു; അതു ആകാശത്തോളം ഉയരമുള്ളതും സർവ്വഭൂമിയുടെയും അറ്റത്തോളം കാണാകുന്നതും ആയിരുന്നു.

English: The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was food for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.

Malayalam: അതിന്റെ ഇല ഭംഗിയുള്ളതും ഫലം അനവധിയും ആയിരുന്നു; എല്ലാവർക്കും അതിൽ ആഹാരം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങൾ അതിന്റെ കീഴെ തണലിളെച്ചുവന്നു; ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾ അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പുകളിൽ വസിച്ചു; സകലജഡവും അതുകൊണ്ടു ഉപജീവനം കഴിച്ചുപോന്നു.

English: I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven;

Malayalam: കിടക്കയിൽവെച്ചു എനിക്കു ഉണ്ടായ ദർശനത്തിൽ ഒരു ദൂതൻ, ഒരു പരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നേ, സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു.

English: He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches:

Malayalam: അവൻ ഉച്ചത്തിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറഞ്ഞതു: വൃക്ഷം വെട്ടിയിട്ടു, അതിന്റെ കൊമ്പു മുറിച്ചു, ഇല കുടഞ്ഞു, കായി ചിതറിച്ചുകളവിൻ; അതിന്റെ കീഴിൽനിന്നു മൃഗങ്ങളും കൊമ്പുകളിൽനിന്നു പക്ഷികളും പൊയ്ക്കൊള്ളട്ടെ.

English: Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth:

Malayalam: അതിന്റെ തായ് വേരോ വയലിലെ ഇളമ്പുല്ലിൽ ഇരിമ്പും താമ്രവുംകൊണ്ടുള്ള ബന്ധനത്തോടെ ഭൂമിയിൽ വെച്ചേക്കുവിൻ; അവൻ ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയട്ടെ; അവന്നു മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ നിലത്തെ പുല്ലു ഉപജീവനം ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.

English: Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ മാനുഷസ്വഭാവം മാറി മൃഗസ്വഭാവമായിത്തീരട്ടെ; അങ്ങനെ അവന്നു ഏഴു കാലം കഴിയട്ടെ.

English: This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will, and sets up over it the base of men.

Malayalam: അത്യുന്നതനായവൻ മനുഷ്യരുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്മേൽ വാഴുകയും അതിനെ തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവന്നു കൊടുക്കയും മനുഷ്യരിൽ അധമനായവനെ അതിന്മേൽ വാഴിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു ജീവനോടിരിക്കുന്നവർ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു ഈ വിധി ദൂതന്മാരുടെ നിർണ്ണയവും കാര്യം വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ കല്പനയും ആകുന്നു.

English: This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now you, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but you are able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in you.

Malayalam: നെബൂഖദ്നേസർരാജാവായ ഞാൻ ഈ സ്വപ്നം കണ്ടു; എന്നാൽ ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സരേ, എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലെ വിദ്വാന്മാർക്കു ആർക്കും അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം അറിയിപ്പാൻ കഴിയായ്കകൊണ്ടു നീ അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം അറിയിച്ചുതരേണം; വിശുദ്ധദേവന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാവു നിന്നിൽ ഉള്ളതുകൊണ്ടു നീ അതിന്നു പ്രാപ്തനാകുന്നു.

English: Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonished for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spoke, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble you. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate you, and the interpretation thereof to yours enemies.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സർ എന്നും പേരുള്ള ദാനീയേൽ കുറെ നേരത്തേക്കു സ്തംഭിച്ചിരുന്നു; അവർ വിചാരങ്ങളാൽ പരവശനായി. രാജാവു അവനോടു: ബേൽത്ത് ശസ്സരേ, സ്വപ്നവും അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥവുംനിമിത്തം നീ പരവശനാകരുതേ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു. ബേൽത്ത ശസ്സർ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞതു: യജമാനനേ, സ്വപ്നം തിരുമനസ്സിലെ ശത്രുക്കൾക്കും അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം തിരുമനസ്സിലെ വൈരികൾക്കും ഭവിക്കട്ടെ.

English: The tree that you saw, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;

Malayalam: വളർന്നു ബലപ്പെട്ടതും ആകാശത്തോളം ഉയരമുള്ളതും ഭൂമിയിൽ എല്ലാടത്തുനിന്നും കാണാകുന്നതും

English: Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was food for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:

Malayalam: ഭംഗിയുള്ള ഇലയും അനവധി ഫലവും എല്ലാവർക്കും ആഹാരവും ഉള്ളതും കീഴെ കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങൾ വസിച്ചതും കൊമ്പുകളിൽ ആകാശത്തിലെ പക്ഷികൾക്കു പാർപ്പിടം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുമായി കണ്ട വൃക്ഷം,

English: It is you, O king, that are grown and become strong: for your greatness is grown, and reachs unto heaven, and your dominion to the end of the earth.

Malayalam: രാജാവേ, വർദ്ധിച്ചു ബലവാനായി തീർന്നിരിക്കുന്ന തിരുമേനി തന്നേ; തിരുമനസ്സിലെ മഹത്വം വർദ്ധിച്ചു ആകാശംവരെയും ആധിപത്യം ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതിവരെയും എത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;

Malayalam: ഒരു ദൂതൻ, ഒരു പരിശുദ്ധൻ തന്നേ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു: വൃക്ഷത്തെ വെട്ടിയിട്ടു നശിപ്പിച്ചുകളവിൻ; എങ്കിലും അതിന്റെ തായ് വേർ വയലിലെ ഇളമ്പുല്ലിൽ ഇരിമ്പും താമ്രവും കൊണ്ടുള്ള ബന്ധനത്തോടുകൂടെ ഭൂമിയിൽ വെച്ചേക്കുവിൻ; അവൻ ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയട്ടെ; അവന്നു ഏഴുകാലം കഴിയുന്നതുവരെ അവന്റെ ഉപജീവനം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറയുന്നതു രാജാവു കണ്ടുവല്ലോ.

English: This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which has come upon my lord the king:

Malayalam: രാജാവേ, അതിന്റെ അർത്ഥം ഇതാകുന്നു; എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെമേൽ വരുന്ന അത്യുന്നതനായവന്റെ വിധി ഇതു തന്നേ;

English: That they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet you with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, till you know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will.

Malayalam: തിരുമേനിയെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; തിരുമനസ്സിലെ വാസം കാട്ടുമൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെയാകും. തിരുമേനിയെ കാളയെപ്പോലെ പുല്ലു തീറ്റും; തിരുമേനി ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയും; മനുഷ്യരുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്മേൽ അത്യുന്നതനായവൻ വാഴുകയും അതിനെ തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവന്നു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവെന്നു തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു അറിയുന്നതുവരെ ഏഴു കാലം കഴിയും.

English: And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; your kingdom shall be sure unto you, after that you shall have known that the heavens do rule.

Malayalam: വൃക്ഷത്തിന്റെ തായ് വേർ വെച്ചേക്കുവാൻ അവർ കല്പിച്ചതോ: വാഴുന്നതു സ്വർഗ്ഗമാകുന്നു എന്നു തിരുമനസ്സുകൊണ്ടു ഗ്രഹിച്ചശേഷം രാജത്വം തിരുമേനിക്കു സ്ഥിരമാകും എന്നത്രേ.

English: Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and yours iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of your tranquillity.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ രാജാവേ, എന്റെ ആലോചന തിരുമനസ്സിലേക്കു പ്രസാദമായിരിക്കട്ടെ; നീതിയാൽ പാപങ്ങളെയും ദരിദ്രന്മാർക്കു കൃപകാട്ടുന്നതിനാൽ അകൃത്യങ്ങളെയും പരിഹരിച്ചുകൊൾക; അതിനാൽ പക്ഷേ തിരുമനസ്സിലെ സുഖകാലം ദീർഘമായി നില്ക്കും.

English: All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.

Malayalam: ഇതെല്ലാം നെബൂഖദ് നേസർരാജാവിന്നു വന്നു ഭവിച്ചു.

English: At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.

Malayalam: പന്ത്രണ്ടു മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു അവൻ ബാബേലിലെ രാജമന്ദിരത്തിന്മേൽ ഉലാവിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

English: The king spoke, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?

Malayalam: ഇതു ഞാൻ എന്റെ ധനമാഹാത്മ്യത്താൽ എന്റെ പ്രതാപമഹത്വത്തിന്നായിട്ടു രാജധാനിയായി പണിത മഹതിയാം ബാബേൽ അല്ലയോ എന്നു രാജാവു പറഞ്ഞുതുടങ്ങി.

English: While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to you it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from you.

Malayalam: ഈ വാക്കു രാജാവിന്റെ വായിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നേ, സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഒരു ശബ്ദം ഉണ്ടായതെന്തെന്നാൽ: നെബൂഖദ് നേസർരാജാവേ, നിന്നോടു ഇതു കല്പിക്കുന്നു: രാജത്വം നിന്നെ വിട്ടു നീങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: And they shall drive you from men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make you to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over you, until you know that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomsoever he will.

Malayalam: നിന്നെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളയും; നിന്റെ പാർപ്പു കാട്ടിലെ മൃഗങ്ങളോടുകൂടെ ആയിരിക്കും; നിന്നെ കാളയെപ്പോലെ പുല്ലു തീറ്റും; അത്യുന്നതനായവൻ മനുഷ്യരുടെ രാജത്വത്തിന്മേൽ വാഴുകയും അതിനെ തനിക്കു ബോധിച്ചവന്നു കൊടുക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു നീ അറിയുന്നതുവരെ നിനക്കു ഏഴു കാലം കഴിയും.

English: The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws.

Malayalam: ഉടൻ തന്നേ ആ വാക്കു നെബൂഖദ് നേസരിന്നു നിവൃത്തിയായി; അവനെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽ നിന്നു നീക്കിക്കളഞ്ഞു; അവന്റെ രോമം കഴുകന്റെ തൂവൽപോലെയും അവന്റെ നഖം പക്ഷിയുടെ നഖംപോലെയും വളരുന്നതുവരെ, അവൻ കാള എന്നപോലെ പുല്ലു തിന്നുകയും അവന്റെ ദേഹം ആകാശത്തിലെ മഞ്ഞുകൊണ്ടു നനയുകയും ചെയ്തു.

English: And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that lives for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation:

Malayalam: ആ കാലം കഴിഞ്ഞിട്ടു നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ എന്ന ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തേക്കു കണ്ണുയർത്തി എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയും എനിക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു; ഞാൻ അത്യുന്നതനായവനെ വാഴ്ത്തി, എന്നേക്കും ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവനെ സ്മരിച്ചു ബഹുമാനിക്കയും ചെയ്തു; അവന്റെ ആധിപത്യം എന്നേക്കുമുള്ള ആധിപത്യവും അവന്റെ രാജത്വം തലമുറതലമുറയായുള്ളതും അല്ലോ.

English: And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he does according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What do you?

Malayalam: അവൻ സർവ്വഭൂവാസികളെയും നാസ്തിയായി എണ്ണുന്നു; സ്വർഗ്ഗീയ സൈന്യത്തോടും ഭൂവാസികളോടും ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ കൈ തടുപ്പാനോ നീ എന്തു ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു അവനാടു ചോദിപ്പാനോ ആർക്കും കഴികയില്ല.

English: At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me.

Malayalam: ആ നേരത്തു തന്നേ എന്റെ ബുദ്ധി മടങ്ങിവന്നു; എന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിന്റെ മഹത്വത്തിന്നായി എന്റെ മഹിമയും മുഖപ്രകാശവും മടങ്ങിവന്നു; എന്റെ മന്ത്രിമാരും മഹത്തുക്കളും എന്നെ അന്വേഷിച്ചു; ഞാൻ എന്റെ രാജത്വത്തിൽ യഥാസ്ഥാനപ്പെട്ടു, ശ്രേഷ്ഠമഹത്വം എനിക്കു അധികമായി സിദ്ധിച്ചു.

English: Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to bring low.

Malayalam: ഇപ്പോൾ നെബൂഖദ്നേസർ എന്ന ഞാൻ സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥനായ രാജാവിനെ സ്തുതിച്ചു പകഴ്ത്തി ബഹുമാനിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ ഒക്കെയും സത്യവും അവന്റെ വഴികൾ ന്യായവും ആകുന്നു; നിഗളിച്ചുനടക്കുന്നവരെ താഴ്ത്തുവാനും അവൻ പ്രാപ്തൻ തന്നേ.
