Esther 3

English: After these things did king Ahasuerus promote Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, and advanced him, and set his seat above all the princes that were with him.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവു ആഗാഗ്യനായ ഹമ്മെദാഥയുടെ മകൻ ഹാമാന്നു കയറ്റവും ഉന്നതപദവിയും കൊടുത്തു അവന്റെ ഇരിപ്പിടം തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുന്ന സകലപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെയും ഇരിപ്പിടങ്ങൾക്കു മേലായി വെച്ചു.

English: And all the king's servants, that were in the king's gate, bowed, and reverenced Haman: for the king had so commanded concerning him. But Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence.

Malayalam: രാജാവിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കലെ രാജഭൃത്യന്മാർ ഒക്കെയും ഹാമാനെ കുമ്പിട്ടു നമസ്ക്കരിച്ചു; രാജാവു അവനെ സംബന്ധിച്ചു അങ്ങനെ കല്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു. എങ്കിലും മൊർദ്ദെഖായി അവനെ കുമ്പിട്ടില്ല, നമസ്ക്കരിച്ചതുമില്ല.

English: Then the king's servants, which were in the king's gate, said unto Mordecai, Why trangress you the king's commandment?

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ രാജാവിന്റെ വാതിൽക്കലെ രാജഭൃത്യന്മാർ മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയോടു: നീ രാജകല്പന ലംഘിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

English: Now it came to pass, when they spoke daily unto him, and he hearkened not unto them, that they told Haman, to see whether Mordecai's matters would stand: for he had told them that he was a Jew.

Malayalam: അവർ ഇങ്ങനെ ദിവസംപ്രതി അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും അവൻ അവരുടെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കാതിരുന്നതിനാൽ മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ പെരുമാറ്റം നിലനില്ക്കുമോ എന്നു കാണേണ്ടതിന്നു അവർ അതു ഹാമാനോടു അറിയിച്ചു; താൻ യെഹൂദൻ എന്നു അവൻ അവരോടു പറഞ്ഞിട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു.

English: And when Haman saw that Mordecai bowed not, nor did him reverence, then was Haman full of wrath.

Malayalam: മൊർദ്ദെഖായി തന്നെ കുമ്പിട്ടു നമസ്കരിക്കുന്നില്ലെന്നു കണ്ടിട്ടു ഹാമാൻ കോപംകൊണ്ടു നിറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he thought scorn to lay hands on Mordecai alone; for they had showed him the people of Mordecai: wherefore Haman sought to destroy all the Jews that were throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus, even the people of Mordecai.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയെ മാത്രം കയ്യേറ്റം ചെയ്യുന്നതു അവന്നു പുച്ഛകാര്യമായി തോന്നി; മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ ജാതി ഇന്നതെന്നു അവന്നു അറിവു കിട്ടീട്ടുണ്ടായിരുന്നു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അഹശ്വേരോശിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെല്ലാടവും ഉള്ള മൊർദ്ദെഖായിയുടെ ജാതിക്കാരായ യെഹൂദന്മാരെയൊക്കെയും നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഹാമാൻ തരം അന്വേഷിച്ചു.

English: In the first month, that is, the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, that is, the month Adar.

Malayalam: അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം ആണ്ടിൽ നീസാൻ മാസമായ ഒന്നാം മാസത്തിൽ അവർ ആദാർ എന്ന പന്ത്രണ്ടാം മാസംവരെയുള്ള ഓരോ ദിവസത്തെയും ഓരോ മാസത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഹാമാന്റെ മുമ്പിൽവെച്ചു പൂര് എന്ന ചീട്ടിട്ടു നോക്കി.

English: And Haman said unto king Ahasuerus, There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the people in all the provinces of your kingdom; and their laws are diverse from all people; neither keep they the king's laws: therefore it is not for the king's profit to suffer them.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ ഹാമാൻ അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിനോടു: നിന്റെ രാജ്യത്തിലെ സകല സംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലുമുള്ള ജാതികളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരു ജാതി ചിന്നിച്ചിതറിക്കിടക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണങ്ങൾ മറ്റുള്ള സകലജാതികളുടേതിനോടും വ്യത്യാസപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുന്നു; അവർ രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രമാണങ്ങളെ അനുസരിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവരെ അങ്ങനെ വിടുന്നതു രാജാവിന്നു യോഗ്യമല്ല.

English: If it please the king, let it be written that they may be destroyed: and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver to the hands of those that have the charge of the business, to bring it into the king's treasuries.

Malayalam: രാജാവിന്നു സമ്മതമുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അവരെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു സന്ദേശം എഴുതി അയക്കേണം; എന്നാൽ ഞാൻ കാര്യവിചാരകന്മാരുടെ കയ്യിൽ പതിനായിരം താലന്ത് വെള്ളി രാജാവിന്റെ ഭണ്ഡാരത്തിലേക്കു കൊടുത്തയക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And the king took his ring from his hand, and gave it unto Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, the Jews' enemy.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ രാജാവു തന്റെ മോതിരം കയ്യിൽനിന്നു ഊരി ആഗാഗ്യനായ ഹമ്മെദാഥയുടെ മകനായി യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ശത്രുവായ ഹാമാന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

English: And the king said unto Haman, The silver is given to you, the people also, to do with them as it seems good to you.

Malayalam: രാജാവു ഹാമാനോടു: ഞാൻ ആ വെള്ളിയെയും ആ ജാതിയെയും നിനക്കു ദാനം ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇഷ്ടംപോലെ ചെയ്തുകൊൾക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then were the king's scribes called on the thirteenth day of the first month, and there was written according to all that Haman had commanded unto the king's lieutenants, and to the governors that were over every province, and to the rulers of every people of every province according to the writing thereof, and to every people after their language; in the name of king Ahasuerus was it written, and sealed with the king's ring.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ഒന്നാം മാസം പതിമ്മൂന്നാം തിയ്യതി രാജാവിന്റെ രായസക്കാരെ വിളിച്ചു; ഹാമാൻ കല്പിച്ചതുപോലെ ഒക്കെയും അവർ രാജപ്രതിനിധികൾക്കും ഓരോ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലെ ദേശാധിപധികൾക്കും അതതു ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കും അതതു സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലേക്കു അവിടത്തെ അക്ഷരത്തിലും അതതു ജനത്തിന്നും അവരുടെ ഭാഷയിലും എഴുതി; അഹശ്വേരോശ്‌രാജാവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ അതെഴുതി രാജമോതിരംകൊണ്ടു മുദ്ര ഇട്ടു.

English: And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

Malayalam: ആദാർമാസമായ പന്ത്രണ്ടാം മാസം പതിമ്മൂന്നാം തിയ്യതി തന്നേ സകലയെഹൂദന്മാരെയും ആബാലവൃദ്ധം കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെയും സ്ത്രീകളെയും കൂടെ നശിപ്പിച്ചു കൊന്നുമുടിക്കയും അവരുടെ വസ്തുവക കൊള്ളയിടുകയും ചെയ്യേണമെന്നു രാജാവിന്റെ സകലസംസ്ഥാനങ്ങളിലേക്കും അഞ്ചൽക്കാർവശം എഴുത്തു അയച്ചു.

English: The copy of the writing for a commandment to be given in every province was published unto all people, that they should be ready against that day.

Malayalam: അന്നത്തേക്കു ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കേണമെന്നു സകലജാതികൾക്കും പരസ്യം ചെയ്യേണ്ടതിന്നു കൊടുത്ത തീർപ്പിന്റെ പകർപ്പു ഓരോ സംസ്ഥാനത്തിലും പ്രസിദ്ധമാക്കി.

English: The posts went out, being hastened by the king's commandment, and the decree was given in Shushan the palace. And the king and Haman sat down to drink; but the city Shushan was perplexed.

Malayalam: അഞ്ചൽക്കാർ രാജ കല്പന പ്രമാണിച്ചു ക്ഷണത്തിൽ പുറപ്പെട്ടു പോയി; ശൂശൻ രാജധാനിയിലും ആ തീർപ്പു പരസ്യം ചെയ്തു; രാജാവും ഹാമാനും കുടിപ്പാൻ ഇരുന്നു; ശൂശമ്പട്ടണമോ കലങ്ങിപ്പോയി.
