Isaiah 8

English: Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take you a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.

Malayalam: യഹോവ എന്നോടു കല്പിച്ചതു: നീ ഒരു വലിയ പലക എടുത്തു, സാമാന്യ അക്ഷരത്തിൽ: മഹേർ-ശാലാൽ ഹാശ്-ബസ് എന്നു എഴുതുക.

English: And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ഊരിയാപുരോഹിതനെയും യെബെരെഖ്യാവിൻ മകനായ സഖർയ്യാവെയും എനിക്കു വിശ്വസ്തസാക്ഷികളാക്കിവെക്കും.

English: And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകിയുടെ അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു; അവൾ ഗർഭം ധരിച്ചു ഒരു മകനെ പ്രസവിച്ചു. യഹോവ എന്നോടു: അവന്നു മഹേർ-ശാലാൽ ഹാശ്-ബസ് എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്ക;

English: For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

Malayalam: ഈ കുട്ടിക്കു അപ്പാ, അമ്മേ എന്നു വിളിപ്പാൻ പ്രായമുകുംമുമ്പെ ദമ്മേശെക്കിലെ ധനവും ശമർയ്യയിലെ കൊള്ളയും അശ്ശൂർ രാജാവിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു എടുത്തുകൊണ്ടു പോകും എന്നരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

English: The LORD spoke also unto me again, saying,

Malayalam: യഹോവ പിന്നെയും എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

English: Forasmuch as this people refuses the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;

Malayalam: ഈ ജനം സാവധാനത്തോടെ ഒഴുകുന്ന ശീലോഹാവെള്ളത്തെ നിരസിച്ചു രെസീനിലും രെമല്യാവിൻ മകനിലും സന്തോഷിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു,

English: Now therefore, behold, the Lord brings up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

Malayalam: അതുകാരണത്താൽ തന്നേ, യഹോവ നദിയിലെ ബലമേറിയ പെരുവെള്ളത്തെ, അശ്ശൂർരാജാവിനെയും അവന്റെ സകലമഹത്വത്തെയും തന്നേ, അവരുടെമേൽ വരുത്തും; അതു അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ തോടുകളിലും പൊങ്ങി അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ കരകളെയും കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകും.

English: And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

Malayalam: അതു യെഹൂദയിലേക്കു കടന്നു കവിഞ്ഞൊഴുകി കഴുത്തോളം എത്തും; അതിന്റെ വിടർന്ന ചിറകു, ഇമ്മാനൂവേലേ, നിന്റെ ദേശത്തിന്റെ വീതിയെ മൂടും.

English: Associate yourselves, O all of you people, and all of you shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all you of far countries: gird yourselves, and all of you shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and all of you shall be broken in pieces.

Malayalam: ജാതികളേ, കലഹിപ്പിൻ; തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ! സകല ദൂരദിക്കുകാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; അര കെട്ടിക്കൊൾവിൻ; തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ. അര കെട്ടിക്കൊൾവിൻ, തകർന്നുപോകുവിൻ.

English: Take counsel together, and it shall come to nothing; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

Malayalam: കൂടി ആലോചിച്ചുകൊൾവിൻ; അതു നിഷ്ഫലമായിത്തീരും; കാര്യം പറഞ്ഞുറെപ്പിൻ; സാദ്ധ്യം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദൈവം ഞങ്ങളോടു കൂടെ ഉണ്ടു.

English: For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

Malayalam: യഹോവ ബലമുള്ള കൈകൊണ്ടു എന്നെ പിടിച്ചു എന്നോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തിന്റെ വഴിയിൽ നടക്കാതെയിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എനിക്കു ഉപദേശിച്ചുതന്നതെന്തെന്നാൽ:

English: Say all of you not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear all of you their fear, nor be afraid.

Malayalam: ഈ ജനം കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു എന്നു പറയുന്നതിന്നൊക്കെയും കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയരുതു; അവർ ഭയപ്പെടുന്നതിനെ നിങ്ങൾ ഭയപ്പെടരുതു, ഭ്രമിച്ചുപോകയുമരുതു.

English: Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

Malayalam: സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയെ ശുദ്ധീകരിപ്പിൻ; അവൻ തന്നേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭയവും നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭീതിയും ആയിരിക്കട്ടെ.

English: And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a animal trap and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അവൻ ഒരു വിശുദ്ധമന്ദിരമായിരിക്കും; എങ്കിലും യിസ്രായേൽഗൃഹത്തിന്നു രണ്ടിന്നും അവൻ ഒരു ഇടർച്ചക്കല്ലും തടങ്ങൽപാറയും യെരൂശലേം നിവാസികൾക്കു ഒരു കുടുക്കും കണിയും ആയിരിക്കും.

English: And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

Malayalam: പലരും അതിന്മേൽ തട്ടിവീണു തകർന്നുപോകയും കണിയിൽ കുടുങ്ങി പിടിപെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

English: Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

Malayalam: സാക്ഷ്യം പൊതിഞ്ഞുകെട്ടുക; എന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉപദേശം മുദ്രയിട്ടു വെക്കുക.

English: And I will wait upon the LORD, that hides his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

Malayalam: ഞാനോ യാക്കോബ്ഗൃഹത്തിന്നു തന്റെ മുഖം മറെച്ചുകളഞ്ഞ യഹോവെക്കായി കാത്തിരിക്കയും പ്രത്യാശിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

English: Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwells in mount Zion.

Malayalam: ഇതാ, ഞാനും യഹോവ എനിക്കു തന്ന മക്കളും സീയോൻ പർവ്വതത്തിൽ അധിവസിക്കുന്ന സൈന്യങ്ങളുടെ യഹോവയാൽ യിസ്രായേലിൽ അടയാളങ്ങളും അത്ഭുതങ്ങളും ആയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mumble: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

Malayalam: വെളിച്ചപ്പാടന്മാരോടു ചിലെക്കുകയും ജപിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നവരായ ലക്ഷണവാദികളോടും അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിപ്പിൻ എന്നു അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നുവെങ്കിൽ -- ജനം തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തോടല്ലയോ ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതു? ജീവനുള്ളവർക്കു വേണ്ടി മരിച്ചവരോടോ ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതു?

English: To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

Malayalam: ഉപദേശത്തിന്നും സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നും വരുവിൻ! അവർ ഈ വാക്കുപോലെ പറയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ -- അവർക്കു അരുണോദയം ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല.

English: And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

Malayalam: അവർ ഏറ്റവും വലഞ്ഞും വിശന്നും ദേശത്തുകൂടി കടന്നുപോകും; അവർക്കു വിശക്കുമ്പോൾ അവർ മുഷിഞ്ഞു തങ്ങളുടെ രാജാവിനെയും തങ്ങളുടെ ദൈവത്തെയും ശപിച്ചു മുഖം മേലോട്ടു തിരിക്കും.

English: And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

Malayalam: അവർ ഭൂമിയിൽ നോക്കുമ്പോൾ കഷ്ടതയും അന്ധകാരവും സങ്കടമുള്ള തിമിരവും കാണും; കൂരിരുട്ടിലേക്കു അവരെ തള്ളിക്കളയും.
