Matthew 23

English: Then spoke Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

Malayalam: അനന്തരം യേശു പുരുഷാരത്തോടും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരോടും പറഞ്ഞതു:

English: Saying The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

Malayalam: “ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരും മോശെയുടെ പീഠത്തിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു.

English: All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not all of you after their works: for they say, and do not.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ അവർ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നതു ഒക്കെയും പ്രമാണിച്ചു ചെയ്‍വിൻ; അവരുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ പോലെ ചെയ്യരുതു താനും. അവർ പറയുന്നതല്ലാതെ ചെയ്യുന്നില്ലല്ലോ.

English: For they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

Malayalam: അവർ ഘനമുള്ള ചുമടുകളെ കെട്ടി മനുഷ്യരുടെ തോളിൽ വെക്കുന്നു; ഒരു വിരൽ കെണ്ടുപോലും അവയെ തൊടുവാൻ അവർക്കു മനസ്സില്ല.

English: But all their works they do in order to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,

Malayalam: അവർ തങ്ങളുടെ പ്രവൃത്തികൾ എല്ലാം മനുഷ്യർ കാണേണ്ടതിന്നത്രേ ചെയ്യുന്നതു; തങ്ങളുടെ മന്ത്രപ്പട്ട വീതിയാക്കി തൊങ്ങൽ വലുതാക്കുന്നു.

English: And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,

Malayalam: അത്താഴത്തിൽ പ്രധാനസ്ഥലവും പള്ളിയിൽ മുഖ്യാസനവും

English: And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.

Malayalam: അങ്ങാടിയിൽ വന്ദനവും മനുഷ്യർ റബ്ബീ എന്നു വളിക്കുന്നതും അവർക്കു പ്രിയമാകുന്നു.

English: But be not all of you called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all you are brethren.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളോ റബ്ബീ എന്നു പേർ എടുക്കരുതു. ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഗുരു;

English: And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളോ എല്ലാവരും സഹോദരന്മാർ. ഭൂമിയിൽ ആരെയും പിതാവു എന്നു വിളിക്കരുതു; ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ പിതാവു, സ്വർഗ്ഗസ്ഥൻ തന്നേ.

English: Neither be all of you called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾ നായകന്മാർ എന്നും പേർ എടുക്കരുതു, ഒരുത്തൻ അത്രേ നിങ്ങളുടെ നായകൻ, ക്രിസ്തു തന്നെ.

English: But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളിൽ ഏറ്റവും വലിയവൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ശുശ്രൂഷക്കാരൻ ആകേണം.

English: And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be brought low; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Malayalam: തന്നെത്താൻ ഉയർത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം താഴ്ത്തപ്പെടും; തന്നെത്താൻ താഴ്ത്തുന്നവൻ എല്ലാം ഉയർത്തപ്പെടും.

English: But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for all of you neither go in yourselves, neither suffer all of you them that are entering to go in.

Malayalam: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ മനുഷ്യർക്കു സ്വർഗ്ഗരാജ്യം അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾ കടക്കുന്നില്ല, കടക്കുന്നവരെ കടപ്പാൻ സമ്മതിക്കുന്നതുമില്ല. (കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ വിധവമാരുടെ വീടുകളെ വിഴുങ്ങുകയും ഉപായരൂപേണ ദീർഘമായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു; ഇതു ഹേതുവായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു കടുമയേറിയ ശിക്ഷാവിധി വരും;)

English: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore all of you shall receive the greater damnation.

Malayalam: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ ഒരുത്തനെ മതത്തിൽ ചേർക്കുവാൻ കടലും കരയും ചുറ്റി നടക്കുന്നു;

English: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, all of you make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Malayalam: ചേർന്നശേഷം അവനെ നിങ്ങളെക്കാൾ ഇരട്ടിച്ച നരകയോഗ്യൻ ആക്കുന്നു.

English: Woe unto you, all of you blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!

Malayalam: ആരെങ്കിലും മന്ദിരത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ ഏതുമില്ല എന്നും മന്ദിരത്തിലെ സ്വർണ്ണത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ കടക്കാരൻ എന്നും പറയുന്ന കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികളേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം.

English: All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that santifies the gold?

Malayalam: മൂഢന്മാരും കുരുടുന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, ഏതു വലിയതു? സ്വർണ്ണമോ സ്വർണ്ണത്തെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന മന്ദിരമോ?

English: And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever swears by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.

Malayalam: യാഗപീഠത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്താൽ ഏതുമില്ല; അതിന്മേലുള്ള വഴിപാടു ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവനോ കടക്കാരൻ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുന്നു.

English: All of you fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that santifies the gift?

Malayalam: കുരുടന്മാരായുള്ളോരേ, ഏതു വലിയതു? വഴിപാടോ വഴിപാടിനെ ശുദ്ധീകരിക്കുന്ന യാഗ പീഠമോ?

English: Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, swears by it, and by all things thereon.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ യാഗപിഠത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അതിനെയും അതിന്മേലുള്ള സകലത്തെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: And whoso shall swear by the temple, swears by it, and by him that dwells therein.

Malayalam: മന്ദിരത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നവൻ അതിനെയും അതിൽ വസിക്കുന്നവനെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: And he that shall swear by heaven, swears by the throne of God, and by him that sits thereon.

Malayalam: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തെച്ചൊല്ലി സത്യംചെയ്യുന്നവൻ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സിംഹാസനത്തെയും അതിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നവനെയും ചൊല്ലി സത്യം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought all of you to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

Malayalam: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ തുളസി, ചതകുപ്പ, ജീരകം ഇവയിൽ പതാരം കൊടുക്കയും ന്യായം, കരുണ, വിശ്വസ്തത ഇങ്ങനെ ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ ഘനമേറിയവ ത്യജിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അതു ചെയ്കയും ഇതു ത്യജിക്കാതിരിക്കയും വേണം.

English: All of you blind guides, which strain out a gnat, and swallow a camel.

Malayalam: കുരുടന്മാരായ വഴികാട്ടികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ കൊതുകിനെ അരിച്ചെടുക്കയും ഒട്ടകത്തെ വിഴുങ്ങിക്കളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

Malayalam: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കുന്നു; അകത്തോ കവർച്ചയും അതിക്രമവും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: You blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

Malayalam: കുരുടനായ പരീശനെ, കിണ്ടികിണ്ണങ്ങളുടെ പുറം വെടിപ്പാക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു മുമ്പെ അവയുടെ അകം വെടിപ്പാക്കുക.

English: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for all of you are like unto whitewashed sepulchers, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.

Malayalam: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; വെള്ളതേച്ച ശവക്കല്ലറകളോടു നിങ്ങൾ ഒത്തിരിക്കുന്നു; അവ പുറമെ അഴകായി ശോഭിക്കുന്നെങ്കിലും അകമെ ചത്തവരുടെ അസ്ഥികളും സകലവിധ അശുദ്ധിയും നിറഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Even so all of you also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within all of you are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ പുറമെ നിങ്ങൾ നീതിമാന്മാർ എന്നു മനുഷ്യർക്കു തോന്നുന്നു; അകമെയോ കപടഭക്തിയും അധർമ്മവും നിറഞ്ഞവരത്രേ.

English: Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because all of you build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchers of the righteous,

Malayalam: കപടഭക്തിക്കാരായ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരും പരീശന്മാരുമായുള്ളോരേ, നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഹാ കഷ്ടം; നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ പണിതും നീതിമാന്മാരുടെ കല്ലറകളെ അലങ്കരിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടു:

English: And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

Malayalam: ഞങ്ങൾ പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ കാലത്തു ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എങ്കിൽ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുന്നതിൽ കൂട്ടാളികൾ ആകയില്ലായിരുന്നു എന്നു പറയുന്നു.

English: Wherefore all of you be witnesses unto yourselves, that all of you are the children of them which killed the prophets.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ നിങ്ങൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊന്നവരുടെ മക്കൾ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ തന്നേ സാക്ഷ്യം പറയുന്നുവല്ലോ.

English: Fill all of you up then the measure of your fathers.

Malayalam: പിതാക്കന്മാരുടെ അളവു നിങ്ങൾ പൂരിച്ചു കൊൾവിൻ.

English: All of you serpents, all of you generation of vipers, how can all of you escape the damnation of hell?

Malayalam: പാമ്പുകളേ, സർപ്പസന്തതികളേ, നിങ്ങൾ നരകവിധി എങ്ങനെ ഒഴിഞ്ഞുപോകും?

English: Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them all of you shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall all of you scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ പ്രവാചകന്മാരെയും ജ്ഞാനികളെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെയും നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ അയക്കുന്നു; അവരിൽ ചിലരെ നിങ്ങൾ ക്രൂശിച്ചു കൊല്ലുകയും ചിലരെ നിങ്ങളുടെ പള്ളികളിൽ ചമ്മട്ടികൊണ്ടു അടിക്കയും പട്ടണത്തിൽ നിന്നു പട്ടണത്തിലേക്കു ഓടിക്കയും ചെയ്യും.

English: That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom all of you slew between the temple and the altar.

Malayalam: നീതിമാനായ ഹാബേലിന്റെ രക്തംമുതൽ നിങ്ങൾ മന്ദിരത്തിന്നും യാഗപീഠത്തിന്നും നടുവിൽവെച്ചു കൊന്നവനായി ബെരെഖ്യാവിന്റെ മകനായ സെഖര്യാവിന്റെ രക്തംവരെ ഭൂമിയിൽ ചൊരിഞ്ഞ നീതിയുള്ള രക്തം എല്ലാം നിങ്ങളുടെമേൽ വരേണ്ടതാകുന്നു.

English: Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.

Malayalam: ഇതൊക്കെയും ഈ തലമുറമേൽ വരും എന്നു ഞാൻ സത്യമായിട്ടു നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.

English: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you that kill the prophets, and stone them which are sent unto you, how often would I have gathered your children together, even as a hen gathers her chickens under her wings, and all of you would not!

Malayalam: യെരൂശലേമേ, യെരൂശലേമേ, പ്രവാചകന്മാരെ കൊല്ലുകയും നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നവരെ കല്ലെറികയും ചെയ്യുന്നവളേ, കോഴി തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങളെ ചിറകിൻ കീഴിൽ ചേർക്കുംപോലെ നിന്റെ മക്കളെ ചേർത്തുകൊൾവാൻ എനിക്കു എത്രവട്ടം മനസ്സായിരുന്നു; നിങ്ങൾക്കോ മനസ്സായില്ല.

English: Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളുടെ ഭവനം ശൂന്യമായ്തീരും.

English: For I say unto you, All of you shall not see me henceforth, till all of you shall say, Blessed is he that comes in the name of the Lord.

Malayalam: ‘കർത്താവിന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വരുന്നവൻ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടവൻ’ എന്നു നിങ്ങൾ പറയുവോളം നിങ്ങൾ ഇനി എന്നെ കാണുകയില്ല എന്നു ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു.”
