Proverbs 24

English: Be not you envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടു അസൂയപ്പെടരുതു; അവരോടുകൂടെ ഇരിപ്പാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കയുമരുതു.

English: For their heart studies destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

Malayalam: അവരുടെ ഹൃദയം സാഹസം ചിന്തിക്കുന്നു; അവരുടെ അധരം വേണ്ടാതനം പറയുന്നു.

English: Through wisdom is an house built; and by understanding it is established:

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനംകൊണ്ടു ഭവനം പണിയുന്നു; വിവേകംകൊണ്ടു അതു സ്ഥിരമായിവരുന്നു.

English: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Malayalam: പരിജ്ഞാനംകൊണ്ടു അതിന്റെ മുറികളിൽ വലിയേറിയതും മനോഹരവുമായ സകല സമ്പത്തും നിറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു.

English: A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increases strength.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനിയായ പുരുഷൻ ബലവാനാകുന്നു; പരിജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവൻ ബലം വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

English: For by wise counsel you shall make your war: and in multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Malayalam: ഭരണസാമർത്ഥ്യത്തോടെ നീ യുദ്ധം നടത്തി ജയിക്കും; മന്ത്രിമാരുടെ ബഹുത്വത്തിൽ രക്ഷയുണ്ടു.

English: Wisdom is too high for a fool: he opens not his mouth in the gate.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനം ഭോഷന്നു അത്യുന്നതമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ വായ് തുറക്കുന്നില്ല.

English: He that devises to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

Malayalam: ദോഷം ചെയ്‍വാൻ നിരൂപിക്കുന്നവനെ ദുഷ്കർമ്മി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞുവരുന്നു;

English: The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

Malayalam: ഭോഷന്റെ നിരൂപണം പാപം തന്നേ; പരിഹാസി മനുഷ്യർക്കു വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

English: If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small.

Malayalam: കഷ്ടകാലത്തു നീ കുഴഞ്ഞുപോയാൽ നിന്റെ ബലം നഷ്ടം തന്നേ.

English: If you forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

Malayalam: മരണത്തിന്നു കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്നവരെ വിടുവിക്ക; കുലെക്കായി വിറെച്ചു ചെല്ലുന്നവരെ രക്ഷിപ്പാൻ നോക്കുക.

English: If you says, Behold, we knew it not; does not he that ponders the heart consider it? and he that keeps your soul, does not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

Malayalam: ഞങ്ങൾ അറിഞ്ഞില്ലല്ലോ എന്നു നീ പറഞ്ഞാൽ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നവൻ ഗ്രഹിക്കയില്ലയോ? നിന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കാക്കുന്നവൻ അറികയില്ലയോ? അവൻ മനുഷ്യന്നു പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു തക്കവണ്ണം പകരം കൊടുക്കയില്ലയോ?

English: My son, eat you honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to your taste:

Malayalam: മകനേ, തേൻ തിന്നുക; അതു നല്ലതല്ലോ; തേങ്കട്ട നിന്റെ അണ്ണാക്കിന്നു മധുരമത്രേ.

English: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto your soul: when you have found it, then there shall be a reward, and your expectation shall not be cut off.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനവും നിന്റെ ഹൃദയത്തിന്നു അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ എന്നറിക; നീ അതു പ്രാപിച്ചാൽ പ്രതിഫലം ഉണ്ടാകും; നിന്റെ പ്രത്യാശെക്കു ഭംഗം വരികയുമില്ല.

English: Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടാ, നീ നീതിമാന്റെ പാർപ്പിടത്തിന്നു പതിയിരിക്കരുതു; അവന്റെ വിശ്രാമസ്ഥലത്തെ നശിപ്പിക്കയുമരുതു.

English: For a just man falls seven times, and rises up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Malayalam: നീതിമാൻ ഏഴുപ്രാവശ്യം വീണാലും എഴുന്നേല്ക്കും; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോ അനർത്ഥത്തിൽ നശിച്ചുപോകും.

English: Rejoice not when yours enemy falls, and let not yours heart be glad when he stumbles:

Malayalam: നിന്റെ ശത്രു വീഴുമ്പോൾ സന്തോഷിക്കരുതു; അവൻ ഇടറുമ്പോൾ നിന്റെ ഹൃദയം ആനന്ദിക്കരുതു.

English: Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Malayalam: യഹോവ കണ്ടിട്ടു അവന്നു ഇഷ്ടക്കേടാകുവാനും തന്റെ കോപം അവങ്കൽനിന്നു മാറ്റിക്കളവാനും മതി.

English: Fret not yourself because of evil men, neither be you envious at the wicked:

Malayalam: ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാർ നിമിത്തം മുഷിയരുതു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരോടു അസൂയപ്പെടുകയും അരുതു.

English: For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

Malayalam: ദോഷിക്കു പ്രതിഫലമുണ്ടാകയില്ല; ദുഷ്ടന്റെ വിളക്കു കെട്ടുപോകും.

English: My son, fear you the LORD and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

Malayalam: മകനേ, യഹോവയെയും രാജാവിനെയും ഭയപ്പെടുക; മത്സരികളോടു ഇടപെടരുതു.

English: For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knows the ruin of them both?

Malayalam: അവരുടെ ആപത്തു പെട്ടെന്നു വരും; രണ്ടു കൂട്ടർക്കും വരുന്ന നാശം ആരറിയുന്നു?

English: These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

Malayalam: ഇവയും ജ്ഞാനികളുടെ വാക്യങ്ങൾ. ന്യായവിസ്താരത്തിൽ മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം നന്നല്ല.

English: He that says unto the wicked, You are righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall detest him:

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടനോടു നീ നീതിമാൻ എന്നു പറയുന്നവനെ ജാതികൾ ശപിക്കയും വംശങ്ങൾ വെറുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.

English: But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

Malayalam: അവനെ ശാസിക്കുന്നവർക്കോ നന്മ ഉണ്ടാകും; നല്ലോരനുഗ്രഹം അവരുടെ മേൽ വരും.

English: Every man shall kiss his lips that gives a right answer.

Malayalam: നേരുള്ള ഉത്തരം പറയുന്നവൻ അധരങ്ങളെ ചുംബനം ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: Prepare your work without, and make it fit for yourself in the field; and afterwards build yours house.

Malayalam: വെളിയിൽ നിന്റെ വേല ചെയ്ക; വയലിൽ എല്ലാം തീർക്കുക; പിന്നെത്തേതിൽ നിന്റെ വീടു പണിയുക.

English: Be not a witness against your neighbour without cause; and deceive not with your lips.

Malayalam: കാരണം കൂടാതെ കൂട്ടുകാരന്നു വിരോധമായി സാക്ഷിനിൽക്കരുതു; നിന്റെ അധരംകൊണ്ടു ചതിക്കയും അരുതു.

English: Say not, I will do so to him as he has done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

Malayalam: അവൻ എന്നോടു ചെയ്തതുപോലെ ഞാൻ അവനോടു ചെയ്യുമെന്നും ഞാൻ അവന്നു അവന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിക്കു പകരം കൊടുക്കും എന്നും നീ പറയരുതു.

English: I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

Malayalam: ഞാൻ മടിയന്റെ കണ്ടത്തിന്നരികെയും ബുദ്ധിഹീനന്റെ മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടത്തിന്നു സമീപെയും കൂടി പോയി.

English: And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

Malayalam: അവിടെ മുള്ളു പടർന്നുപിടിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നതും തൂവ നിറഞ്ഞു നിലം മൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നതും അതിന്റെ കന്മതിൽ ഇടിഞ്ഞുകിടക്കുന്നതും കണ്ടു.

English: Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ അതു നോക്കി വിചാരിക്കയും അതു കണ്ടു ഉപദേശം പ്രാപിക്കയും ചെയ്തു.

English: Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

Malayalam: കുറെക്കൂടെ ഉറക്കം, കുറെക്കൂടെ നിദ്ര, കുറെക്കൂടെ കൈ കെട്ടി കിടക്ക.

English: So shall your poverty come as one that travels; and your lack as an armed man.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ നിന്റെ ദാരിദ്ര്യം വഴിപോക്കനെപ്പോലെയും നിന്റെ ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു ആയുധപാണിയെപ്പോലെയും വരും.
