Proverbs 5

English: My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow yours ear to my understanding:

Malayalam: മകനേ, വകതിരിവിനെ കാത്തുകൊള്ളേണ്ടതിന്നും നിന്റെ അധരങ്ങൾ പരിജ്ഞാനത്തെ പാലിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നും

English: That you may regard discretion, and that your lips may keep knowledge.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനത്തെ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു എന്റെ ബോധത്തിന്നു ചെവി ചായിക്ക.

English: For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil:

Malayalam: പരസ്ത്രീയുടെ അധരങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു തേൻ ഇറ്റിറ്റു വീഴുന്നു; അവളുടെ അണ്ണാക്കു എണ്ണയെക്കാൾ മൃദുവാകുന്നു.

English: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.

Malayalam: പിന്നത്തേതിലോ അവൾ കാഞ്ഞിരംപോലെ കൈപ്പും ഇരുവായ്ത്തലവാൾപോലെ മൂർച്ചയും ഉള്ളവൾ തന്നേ.

English: Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.

Malayalam: അവളുടെ കാലുകൾ മരണത്തിലേക്കു ഇറങ്ങിച്ചെല്ലുന്നു; അവളുടെ കാലടികൾ പാതാളത്തിലേക്കു ഓടുന്നു.

English: Lest you should ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that you can not know them.

Malayalam: ജീവന്റെ മാർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ അവൾ ചെല്ലാതവണ്ണം അവളുടെ പാതകൾ അസ്ഥിരമായിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൾ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

English: Hear me now therefore, O all of you children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ മക്കളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ; എന്റെ വായിലെ മൊഴികളെ വിട്ടുമാറരുതു.

English: Remove your way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house:

Malayalam: നിന്റെ വഴിയെ അവളോടു അകറ്റുക; അവളുടെ വീട്ടിന്റെ വാതിലോടു അടുക്കരുതു.

English: Lest you give yours honour unto others, and your years unto the cruel:

Malayalam: നിന്റെ യൌവനശക്തി അന്യന്മാർക്കും നിന്റെ ആണ്ടുകൾ ക്രൂരന്നും കൊടുക്കരുതു.

English: Lest strangers be filled with your wealth; and your labours be in the house of a stranger;

Malayalam: കണ്ടവർ നിന്റെ സമ്പത്തു തിന്നുകളയരുതു. നിന്റെ പ്രയത്നഫലം വല്ലവന്റെയും വീട്ടിൽ ആയ്പോകരുതു.

English: And you mourn at the last, when your flesh and your body are consumed,

Malayalam: നിന്റെ മാംസവും ദേഹവും ക്ഷയിച്ചിട്ടു നീ ഒടുവിൽ നെടുവീർപ്പിട്ടുകൊണ്ടു:

English: And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof;

Malayalam: അയ്യോ! ഞാൻ പ്രബോധനം വെറുക്കയും എന്റെ ഹൃദയം ശാസനയെ നിരസിക്കയും ചെയ്തുവല്ലോ.

English: And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!

Malayalam: എന്റെ ഉപദേഷ്ടാക്കന്മാരുടെ വാക്കു ഞാൻ അനുസരിച്ചില്ല; എന്നെ പ്രബോധിപ്പിച്ചവർക്കു ഞാൻ ചെവികൊടുത്തില്ല.

English: I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.

Malayalam: സഭയുടെയും സംഘത്തിന്റെയും മദ്ധ്യേ ഞാൻ ഏകദേശം സകലദോഷത്തിലും അകപ്പെട്ടുപോയല്ലോ എന്നിങ്ങനെ പറവാൻ സംഗതിവരരുതു.

English: Drink waters out of yours own cistern, and running waters out of yours own well.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ സ്വന്തജലാശയത്തിലെ തണ്ണീരും സ്വന്തകിണറ്റിൽനിന്നു ഒഴുകുന്ന വെള്ളവും കുടിക്ക.

English: Let your fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ ഉറവുകൾ വെളിയിലേക്കും നിന്റെ നീരൊഴുക്കുകൾ വീഥിയിലേക്കും ഒഴുകിപ്പോകേണമോ?

English: Let them be only yours own, and not strangers' with you.

Malayalam: അവ നിനക്കും അന്യന്മാർക്കും കൂടെയല്ല നിനക്കു മാത്രമേ ഇരിക്കാവു.

English: Let your fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of your youth.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ ഉറവു അനുഗ്രഹിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കട്ടെ; നിന്റെ യൌവനത്തിലെ ഭാര്യയിൽ സന്തോഷിച്ചുകൊൾക.

English: Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy you at all times; and be you ravished always with her love.

Malayalam: കൌതുകമുള്ള പേടമാനും മനോഹരമായ ഇളമാൻ പേടയും പോലെ അവളുടെ സ്തനങ്ങൾ എല്ലാകാലത്തും നിന്നെ രമിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ; അവളുടെ പ്രേമത്താൽ നീ എല്ലായ്പോഴും മത്തനായിരിക്ക.

English: And why will you, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?

Malayalam: മകനേ, നീ പരസ്ത്രീയെ കണ്ടു ഭ്രമിക്കുന്നതും അന്യസ്ത്രീയുടെ മാറിടം തഴുകുന്നതും എന്തു?

English: For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he ponders all his activities.

Malayalam: മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴികൾ യഹോവയുടെ ദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നടപ്പു ഒക്കെയും അവൻ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

English: His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be held with the cords of his sins.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്റെ അകൃത്യങ്ങൾ അവനെ പിടിക്കും; തന്റെ പാപപാശങ്ങളാൽ അവൻ പിടിപെടും.

English: He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Malayalam: പ്രബോധനം കേൾക്കായ്കയാൽ അവൻ മരിക്കും; മഹാഭോഷത്വത്താൽ അവൻ വഴിതെറ്റിപ്പോകും.
