Proverbs 7

English: My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you.

Malayalam: മകനേ, എന്റെ വചനങ്ങളെ പ്രമാണിച്ചു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെ നിന്റെ ഉള്ളിൽ സംഗ്രഹിച്ചുകൊൾക.

English: Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of yours eye.

Malayalam: നീ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു എന്റെ കല്പനകളെയും ഉപദേശത്തെയും നിന്റെ കണ്ണിന്റെ കൃഷ്ണമണിയെപ്പോലെ കാത്തുകൊൾക.

English: Bind them upon your fingers, write them upon the table of yours heart.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ വിരലിന്മേൽ അവയെ കെട്ടുക; ഹൃദയത്തിന്റെ പലകയിൽ എഴുതുക.

English: Say unto wisdom, You are my sister; and call understanding your kinswoman:

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനത്തോടു: നീ എന്റെ സഹോദരി എന്നു പറക; വിവേകത്തിന്നു സഖി എന്നു പേർ വിളിക്ക.

English: That they may keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger which flatters with her words.

Malayalam: അവ നിന്നെ പരസ്ത്രീയുടെ കയ്യിൽനിന്നും ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്ന അന്യസ്ത്രീയുടെ വശത്തുനിന്നും കാക്കും.

English: For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

Malayalam: ഞാൻ എന്റെ വീട്ടിന്റെ കിളിവാതിൽക്കൽ അഴിക്കിടയിൽകൂടി നോക്കിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ

English: And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding,

Malayalam: ഭോഷന്മാരുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ കണ്ടു; യൌവനക്കാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായോരു യുവാവിനെ കണ്ടറിഞ്ഞു.

English: Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house,

Malayalam: അവൻ വൈകുന്നേരം, സന്ധ്യാസമയത്തു, ഇരുട്ടും അന്ധകാരവുമുള്ള ഒരു രാത്രിയിൽ,

English: In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night:

Malayalam: അവളുടെ വീട്ടിന്റെ കോണിന്നരികെ വീഥിയിൽകൂടി കടന്നു, അവളുടെ വീട്ടിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയെ നടന്നു ചെല്ലുന്നു.

English: And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart.

Malayalam: പെട്ടെന്നു ഇതാ, വേശ്യാവസ്ത്രം ധരിച്ചും ഹൃദയത്തിൽ ഉപായം പൂണ്ടും ഉള്ളോരു സ്ത്രീ അവനെ എതിരേറ്റുവരുന്നു.

English: (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house:

Malayalam: അവൾ മോഹപരവശയും തന്നിഷ്ടക്കാരത്തിയും ആകുന്നു; അവളുടെ കാൽ വീട്ടിൽ അടങ്ങിയിരിക്കയില്ല.

English: Now is she without, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.)

Malayalam: ഇപ്പോൾ അവളെ വീഥിയിലും പിന്നെ വിശാലസ്ഥലത്തും കാണാം; ഓരോ കോണിലും അവൾ പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an shameless face said unto him,

Malayalam: അവൾ അവനെ പിടിച്ചു ചുംബിച്ചു, ലജ്ജകൂടാതെ അവനോടു പറയുന്നതു:

English: I have peace offerings with me; this day have I paid my vows.

Malayalam: എനിക്കു സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങൾ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ഇന്നു ഞാൻ എന്റെ നേർച്ചകളെ കഴിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കാണ്മാൻ ആഗ്രഹിച്ചു. നിന്നെ എതിരേല്പാൻ പുറപ്പെട്ടു നിന്നെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ എന്റെ കട്ടിലിന്മേൽ പരവതാനികളും മിസ്രയീമ്യനൂൽകൊണ്ടുള്ള വരിയൻ പടങ്ങളും വിരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.

Malayalam: മൂറും അകിലും ലവംഗവുംകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ എന്റെ മെത്ത സുഗന്ധമാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves.

Malayalam: വരിക; വെളുക്കുംവരെ നമുക്കു പ്രേമത്തിൽ രമിക്കാം; കാമവിലാസങ്ങളാൽ നമുക്കു സുഖിക്കാം.

English: For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey:

Malayalam: പുരുഷൻ വീട്ടിൽ ഇല്ല; ദൂരയാത്ര പോയിരിക്കുന്നു;

English: He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed.

Malayalam: പണമടിശ്ശീല കൂടെ കൊണ്ടുപോയിട്ടുണ്ടു; പൌർണ്ണമാസിക്കേ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നെത്തുകയുള്ളു.

English: With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

Malayalam: ഇങ്ങനെ ഏറിയോരു ഇമ്പവാക്കുകളാൽ അവൾ അവനെ വശീകരിച്ചു അധരമാധുര്യംകൊണ്ടു അവനെ നിർബ്ബന്ധിക്കുന്നു.

English: He goes after her immediately, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

Malayalam: അറുക്കുന്നേടത്തേക്കു കാളയും ചങ്ങലയിലേക്കു ഭോഷനും പോകുന്നതുപോലെയും,

English: Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hastes to the snare, and knows not that it is for his life.

Malayalam: പക്ഷി ജീവഹാനിക്കുള്ളതെന്നറിയാതെ കണിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നതുപോലെയും കരളിൽ അസ്ത്രം തറെക്കുവോളം അവൻ അവളുടെ പിന്നാലെ ചെല്ലുന്നു.

English: Hearken unto me now therefore, O all of you children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ മക്കളേ, എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾപ്പിൻ; എന്റെ വായിലെ വചനങ്ങളെ ശ്രദ്ധിപ്പിൻ.

English: Let not yours heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ മനസ്സു അവളുടെ വഴിയിലേക്കു ചായരുതു; അവളുടെ പാതകളിലേക്കു നീ തെറ്റിച്ചെല്ലുകയുമരുതു.

English: For she has cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her.

Malayalam: അവൾ വീഴിച്ച ഹതന്മാർ അനേകർ; അവൾ കൊന്നുകളഞ്ഞവർ ആകെ വലിയോരു കൂട്ടം ആകുന്നു.

English: Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death.

Malayalam: അവളുടെ വീടു പാതാളത്തിലേക്കുള്ള വഴിയാകുന്നു; അതു മരണത്തിന്റെ അറകളിലേക്കു ചെല്ലുന്നു.
