1 Chronicles 21

English: And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം സാത്താന്‍ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വിരോധമായി എഴുന്നേറ്റു യിസ്രായേലിനെ എണ്ണുവാന്‍ ദാവീദിന്നു തോന്നിച്ചു.

English: And David said to Joab and to the rulers of the people, Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring the number of them to me, that I may know it.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് യോവാബീനോടും ജനത്തിന്റെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരോടുംനിങ്ങള്‍ ചെന്നു ബേര്‍-ശേബമുതല്‍ ദാന്‍ വരെ യിസ്രായേലിനെ എണ്ണി അവരുടെ സംഖ്യ ഞാന്‍ അറിയേണ്ടതിന്നു കൊണ്ടുവരുവിന്‍ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Joab answered, The LORD make his people an hundred times so many more as they be: but, my lord the king, are they not all my lord's servants? why then does my lord require this thing? why will he be a cause of trespass to Israel?

Malayalam: അതിന്നു യോവാബ്യഹോവ തന്റെ ജനത്തെ ഉള്ളതില്‍ നൂറിരട്ടിയായി വര്‍ദ്ധിപ്പിക്കട്ടെ; എങ്കിലും എന്റെ യജമാനനായ രാജാവേ, അവര്‍ ഒക്കെയും യജമാനന്റെ ദാസന്മാരല്ലയോ? യജമാനന്‍ ഈ കാര്യം അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു? യിസ്രായേലിന്നു കുറ്റത്തിന്റെ കാരണമായി തീരുന്നതു എന്തിന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Wherefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.

Malayalam: എന്നാല്‍ യോവാബ് രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന അനുസരിക്കേണ്ടിവന്നു. അതുകൊണ്ടു യോവാബ് പുറപ്പെട്ടു എല്ലായിസ്രായേലിലുംകൂടി സഞ്ചരിച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിവന്നു.

English: And Joab gave the sum of the number of the people unto David. And all they of Israel were a thousand thousand and an hundred thousand men that drew sword: and Judah was four hundred threescore and ten thousand men that drew sword.

Malayalam: യോവാബ് ജനത്തെ എണ്ണിയ സംഖ്യ ദാവീദിന്നു കൊടുത്തുയിസ്രായേലില്‍ ആയുധപാണികള്‍ എല്ലാംകൂടി പതിനൊന്നുലക്ഷംപേര്‍. യെഹൂദയില്‍ ആയുധപാണികള്‍ നാലുലക്ഷത്തെഴുപതിനായിരം പേര്‍.

English: But Levi and Benjamin counted he not among them: for the king's word was abominable to Joab.

Malayalam: എന്നാല്‍ രാജാവിന്റെ കല്പന യോവാബിന്നു വെറുപ്പായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ ലേവിയെയും ബെന്യാമീനെയും അവരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തില്‍ എണ്ണിയില്ല.

English: And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he stroke Israel.

Malayalam: ദൈവത്തിന്നു ഈ കാര്യം അനിഷ്ടമായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു അവന്‍ യിസ്രായേലിനെ ബാധിച്ചു.

English: And David said unto God, I have sinned greatly, because I have done this thing: but now, I plead to you, do away the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly.

Malayalam: അപ്പോള്‍ ദാവീദ് ദൈവത്തോടുഈ കാര്യം ചെയ്തതിനാല്‍ ഞാന്‍ മഹാപാപം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നുഎന്നാല്‍ അടിയന്റെ അകൃത്യം ക്ഷമിക്കേണമേഞാന്‍ വലിയ ഭോഷത്വം ചെയ്തുപോയി എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And the LORD spoke unto Gad, David's seer, saying,

Malayalam: യഹോവ ദാവീദിന്റെ ദര്‍ശകനായ ഗാദിനോടു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതെന്തെന്നാല്‍

English: Go and tell David, saying, Thus says the LORD, I offer you three things: choose you one of them, that I may do it unto you.

Malayalam: നീ ചെന്നു ദാവീദിനോടുഞാന്‍ മൂന്നു കാര്യം നിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ വെക്കുന്നു; അവയില്‍ ഒന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊള്‍ക; അതു ഞാന്‍ നിന്നോടു ചെയ്യും എന്നു യഹോവ അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു എന്നു പറക.

English: So Gad came to David, and said unto him, Thus says the LORD, Choose you

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ഗാദ് ദാവീദിന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ ചെന്നു അവനോടുയഹോവ ഇപ്രകാരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു

English: Either three years' famine; or three months to be destroyed before your foes, while that the sword of yours enemies overtakes you; or else three days the sword of the LORD, even the pestilence, in the land, and the angel of the LORD destroying throughout all the coasts of Israel. Now therefore advise yourself what word I shall bring again to him that sent me.

Malayalam: മൂന്നു സംവത്സരത്തെ ക്ഷാമമോ, നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളുടെ വാള്‍ നിന്നെ തുടര്‍ന്നെത്തി നീ മൂന്നു മാസം നിന്റെ ശത്രുക്കളാല്‍ നശിക്കയോ, ദേശത്തു മൂന്നു ദിവസം യഹോവയുടെ വാളായ മാഹാമാരി ഉണ്ടായി യിസ്രായേല്‍ദേശത്തൊക്കെയും യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന്‍ സംഹാരം ചെയ്കയോ ഇവയില്‍ ഒന്നു തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തുകൊള്‍ക. എന്നെ അയച്ചവനോടു ഞാന്‍ എന്തൊരു മറുപടി പറയേണ്ടു എന്നു ആലോചിച്ചുനോക്കുക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And David said unto Gad, I am in a great strait: let me fall now into the hand of the LORD; for very great are his mercies: but let me not fall into the hand of man.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് ഗാദിനോടുഞാന്‍ വലിയ വിഷമത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നു; ഞാന്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യില്‍ തന്നേ വീഴട്ടെ; അവന്റെ കരുണ ഏറ്റവും വലിയതല്ലോ; മനുഷ്യന്റെ കയ്യില്‍ ഞാന്‍ വീഴരുതേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So the LORD sent pestilence upon Israel: and there fell of Israel seventy thousand men.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ യഹോവ ഇസ്രായേലില്‍ മഹാമാരി അയച്ചു; യിസ്രായേലില്‍ എഴുപതിനായിരംപേര്‍ വീണുപോയി.

English: And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now yours hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Malayalam: ദൈവം യെരൂശലേമിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ഒരു ദൂതനെ അവിടെ അയച്ചു; അവന്‍ നശിപ്പിപ്പാന്‍ ഭാവിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ യഹോവ കണ്ടു ആ അനര്‍ത്ഥത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു അനുതപിച്ചു നാശകദൂതനോടുമതി, നിന്റെ കൈ പിന്‍ വലിക്ക എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു, യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന്‍ യെബൂസ്യനായ ഒര്‍ന്നാന്റെ കളത്തിന്നരികെ നില്‍ക്കയായിരുന്നു.

English: And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് തല പൊക്കി, യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന്‍ വാള്‍ ഊരി യെരൂശലേമിന്നു മീതെ നീട്ടിപ്പിടിച്ചുംകൊണ്ടും ഭൂമിക്കും ആകാശത്തിന്നും മദ്ധ്യേ നിലക്കുന്നതു കണ്ടു ദാവീദും മൂപ്പന്മാരും രട്ടുടുത്തു സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു.

English: And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let yours hand, I pray you, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on your people, that they should be plagued.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് ദൈവത്തോടുജനത്തെ എണ്ണുവാന്‍ പറഞ്ഞവന്‍ ഞാനല്ലയോ? ദോഷം ചെയ്ത പാപി ഞാന്‍ ആകുന്നു; ഈ ആടുകള്‍ എന്തു ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു? യഹോവേ, എന്റെ ദൈവമേ, നിന്റെ കൈ ബാധക്കായിട്ടു നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്മേല്‍ അല്ല, എന്റെമേലും എന്റെ പിതൃഭവനത്തിന്മേലും ഇരിക്കട്ടെ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.

Malayalam: അപ്പോള്‍ യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന്‍ ഗാദിനോടു ദാവീദ് ചെന്നു യെബൂസ്യനായ ഒര്‍ന്നാന്റെ കളത്തില്‍ യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിയേണമെന്നു ദാവീദിനോടു പറവാന്‍ കല്പിച്ചു.

English: And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spoke in the name of the LORD.

Malayalam: യഹോവയുടെ നാമത്തില്‍ ഗാദ് പറഞ്ഞ വചനപ്രകാരം ദാവീദ് ചെന്നു.

English: And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.

Malayalam: ഒര്‍ന്നാന്‍ തിരിഞ്ഞു ദൂതനെ കണ്ടു തന്റെ നാലു പുത്രന്മാരുമായി ഒളിച്ചു. ഒര്‍ന്നാന്‍ കോതമ്പു മെതിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കയായിരുന്നു.

English: And as David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് ഒര്‍ന്നാന്റെ അടുക്കല്‍ വന്നപ്പോള്‍ ഒര്‍ന്നാന്‍ നോക്കി ദാവീദിനെ കണ്ടു കളത്തില്‍നിന്നു പുറത്തുചെന്നു ദാവീദിന്റെ മുമ്പില്‍ സാഷ്ടാംഗം വീണു നമസ്കരിച്ചു.

English: Then David said to Ornan, Grant me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build an altar therein unto the LORD: you shall grant it me for the full price: that the plague may be stayed from the people.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് ഒര്‍ന്നാനോടുഈ കളത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥലത്തു ഞാന്‍ യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠം പണിയേണ്ടതിന്നു അതു എനിക്കു തരേണം; ബാധ ജനത്തെ വിട്ടുമാറേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ അതു മുഴുവിലെക്കു എനിക്കു തരേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Ornan said unto David, Take it to you, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give you the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the food offering; I give it all.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു ഒര്‍ന്നാന്‍ ദാവീദിനോടുഅതു എടുത്തുകൊള്‍ക; യജമാനനായ രാജാവിന്റെ പ്രസാദംപോലെ ചെയ്തുകൊണ്ടാലും; ഇതാ ഞാന്‍ ഹോമയാഗത്തിന്നു കാളകളെയും വിറകിന്നു മെതിവണ്ടികളെയും ഭോജനയാഗത്തിന്നു കോതമ്പിനെയും തരുന്നു; എല്ലാം ഞാന്‍ തരുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And king David said to Ornan, Nay; but I will verily buy it for the full price: for I will not take that which is yours for the LORD, nor offer burnt offerings without cost.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് രാജാവു ഒര്‍ന്നാനോടുഅങ്ങനെ അല്ല; ഞാന്‍ മുഴുവിലെക്കേ അതു വാങ്ങുകയുള്ളു; നിനക്കുള്ളതു ഞാന്‍ യഹോവെക്കായിട്ടു എടുക്കയില്ല; ചെലവുകൂടാതെ ഹോമയാഗം കഴിക്കയും ഇല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So David gave to Ornan for the place six hundred shekels of gold by weight.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ദാവീദ് ആ സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു അറുനൂറു ശേക്കെല്‍ പൊന്നു ഒര്‍ന്നാന്നു കൊടുത്തു.

English: And David built there an altar unto the LORD, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called upon the LORD; and he answered him from heaven by fire upon the altar of burnt offering.

Malayalam: ദാവീദ് അവിടെ യഹോവേക്കു ഒരു യാഗപീഠംപണിതു ഹോമയാഗങ്ങളും സമാധാനയാഗങ്ങളും കഴിച്ചു യഹോവയോടു പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു; അവന്‍ ആകാശത്തില്‍നിന്നു ഹോമപീഠത്തിന്മേല്‍ തീ ഇറക്കി അവന്നു ഉത്തരം അരുളി.

English: And the LORD commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into the sheath thereof.

Malayalam: യഹോവ ദൂതനോടു കല്പിച്ചു; അവന്‍ തന്റെ വാള്‍ വീണ്ടും ഉറയില്‍ ഇട്ടു.

English: At that time when David saw that the LORD had answered him in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.

Malayalam: ആ കാലത്തു യെബൂസ്യനായ ഒര്‍ന്നാന്റെ കളത്തില്‍വെച്ചു യഹോവ തന്റെ പ്രാര്‍ത്ഥനെക്കു ഉത്തരമരുളി എന്നു ദാവീദ് കണ്ടിട്ടു അവിടെ യാഗം കഴിച്ചു.

English: For the tabernacle of the LORD, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of the burnt offering, were at that season in the high place at Gibeon.

Malayalam: മോശെ മരുഭൂമിയില്‍ വെച്ചു ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരുന്ന യഹോവയുടെ തിരുനിവാസവും ഹോമപീഠവും അന്നു ഗിബെയോനിലെ പൂജാഗിരിയില്‍ ആയിരുന്നു.

English: But David could not go before it to enquire of God: for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of the LORD.

Malayalam: യഹോവയുടെ ദൂതന്റെ വാളിനെ പേടിച്ചതുകൊണ്ടു ദൈവത്തോടു അരുളപ്പാടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവിടെ ചെല്ലുവാന്‍ ദാവീദിന്നു കഴിഞ്ഞില്ല.
