1 Corinthians 14

English: Follow after love, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that all of you may prophesy.

Malayalam: സ്നേഹം ആചരിപ്പാൻ ഉത്സാഹിപ്പിൻ! ആത്മികവരങ്ങളും വിശേഷാൽ പ്രവചനവരവും വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിൻ.

English: For he that speaks in an unknown tongue speaks not unto men, but unto God: for no man understands him; nevertheless in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

Malayalam: അന്യഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവൻ മനുഷ്യരോടല്ല ദൈവത്തോടത്രേ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു; ആരും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ലല്ലോ; എങ്കിലും അവൻ ആത്മാവിൽ മർമ്മങ്ങളെ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

English: But he that prophesies speaks unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

Malayalam: പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവനോ ആത്മികവർദ്ധനെക്കും പ്രബോധനത്തിന്നും ആശ്വാസത്തിന്നുമായി മനുഷ്യരോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നു.

English: He that speaks in an unknown tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies the church.

Malayalam: അന്യഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവൻ തനിക്കുതാൻ ആത്മികവർദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു; പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവൻ സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവർദ്ധന വരുത്തുന്നു.

English: I would that all of you all spoke with tongues but rather that all of you prophesied: for greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

Malayalam: നിങ്ങൾ എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കേണം എന്നും വിശേഷാൽ പ്രവചിക്കേണം എന്നും ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു. അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവൻ സഭെക്കു ആത്മികവർദ്ധന ലഭിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ പ്രവചിക്കുന്നവൻ അവനെക്കാൾ വലിയവൻ.

English: Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

Malayalam: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാൻ വെളിപ്പാടായിട്ടോ ജ്ഞാനമായിട്ടോ പ്രവചനമായിട്ടോ ഉപദേശമായിട്ടോ നിങ്ങളോടു സംസാരിക്കാതെ അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിച്ചുകൊണ്ടു നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എന്തു പ്രയോജനം വരും?

English: And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

Malayalam: കുഴൽ, വീണ എന്നിങ്ങനെ നാദം കൊടുക്കുന്ന നിർജ്ജീവസാധനങ്ങൾ തന്നേയും നാദഭേദം കാണിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ ഊതിയതോ മീട്ടിയതോ എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും?

English: For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

Malayalam: കാഹളം തെളിവില്ലാത്ത നാദം കൊടുത്താൽ പടെക്കു ആർ ഒരുങ്ങും?

English: So likewise all of you, except all of you utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for all of you shall speak into the air.

Malayalam: അതുപോലെ നിങ്ങളും നാവുകൊണ്ടു തെളിവായ വാക്കു ഉച്ചരിക്കാഞ്ഞാൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു എന്തെന്നു എങ്ങനെ അറിയും? നിങ്ങൾ കാറ്റിനോടു സംസാരിക്കുന്നവർ ആകുമല്ലോ.

English: There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

Malayalam: ലോകത്തിൽ വിവിധ ഭാഷകൾ അനവധി ഉണ്ടു; അവയിൽ ഒന്നും തെളിവില്ലാത്തതല്ല.

English: Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks shall be a barbarian unto me.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ഭാഷ അറിയാഞ്ഞാൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവന്നു ഞാൻ ബർബ്ബരൻ ആയിരിക്കും; സംസാരിക്കുന്നവൻ എനിക്കും ബർബ്ബരൻ ആയിരിക്കും.

English: Even so all of you, forasmuch as all of you are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that all of you may excel to the edifying of the church.

Malayalam: അവ്വണ്ണം നിങ്ങളും ആത്മവരങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു വാഞ്ഛയുള്ളവരാകയാൽ സഭയുടെ ആത്മിക വർദ്ധനെക്കായി സഫലന്മാർ ആകുവാൻ ശ്രമിപ്പിൻ.

English: Wherefore let him that speaks in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നവൻ വ്യാഖ്യാനവരത്തിന്നായി പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കട്ടെ.

English: For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ അന്യഭാഷയിൽ പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ എന്റെ ആത്മാവു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കുന്നു; എന്റെ ബുദ്ധിയോ അഫലമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ എന്തു? ഞാൻ ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പ്രാർത്ഥിക്കും; ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു പാടും; ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടും പാടും.

English: Else when you shall bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupies the room of the unlearned say Amen at your giving of thanks, seeing he understands not what you says?

Malayalam: അല്ല, നീ ആത്മാവുകൊണ്ടു സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലിയാൽ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവൻ നീ പറയുന്നതു തിരിയാതിരിക്കെ നിന്റെ സ്തോത്രത്തിന്നു എങ്ങനെ ആമേൻ പറയും?

English: For you verily give thanks well, but the other is not edified.

Malayalam: നീ നന്നായി സ്തോത്രം ചൊല്ലുന്നു സത്യം; മറ്റവന്നു ആത്മികവർദ്ധന വരുന്നില്ലതാനും.

English: I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than all of you all:

Malayalam: നിങ്ങളെല്ലാവരിലും അധികം ഞാൻ അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു ഞാൻ ദൈവത്തെ സ്തുതിക്കുന്നു.

English: Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

Malayalam: എങ്കിലും സഭയിൽ പതിനായിരം വാക്കു അന്യഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ അധികം മറ്റുള്ളവരെയും പഠിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ബുദ്ധികൊണ്ടു അഞ്ചുവാക്കു പറവാൻ ഞാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു.

English: Brethren, be not children in understanding: nevertheless in malice be all of you children, but in understanding be men.

Malayalam: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ബുദ്ധിയിൽ കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങൾ ആകരുതു; തിന്മെക്കു ശിശുക്കൾ ആയിരിപ്പിൻ; ബുദ്ധിയിലോ മുതിർന്നവരാകുവിൻ.

English: In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, says the LORD.

Malayalam: “അന്യഭാഷകളാലും അന്യന്മാരുടെ അധരങ്ങളാലും ഞാൻ ഈ ജനത്തോടു സംസാരിക്കും എങ്കിലും അവർ എന്റെ വാക്കു കേൾക്കയില്ല എന്നു കർത്താവു അരുളിച്ചെയ്യുന്നു” എന്നു ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serves not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു അന്യഭാഷകൾ അടയാളമായിരിക്കുന്നതു വിശ്വാസികൾക്കല്ല, അവിശ്വാസികൾക്കത്രേ; പ്രവചനമോ അവിശ്വാസികൾക്കല്ല, വിശ്വാസികൾക്കു തന്നേ.

English: If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that all of you are mad?

Malayalam: സഭ ഒക്കെയും ഒരുമിച്ചുകൂടി എല്ലാവരും അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവരോ അവിശ്വാസികളോ അകത്തു വന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾക്കു ഭ്രാന്തുണ്ടു എന്നു പറകയില്ലയോ?

English: But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believes not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

Malayalam: എല്ലാവരും പ്രവചിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിലോ അവിശ്വാസിയോ ആത്മവരമില്ലാത്തവനോ അകത്തു വന്നാൽ എല്ലാവരുടെ വാക്കിനാലും അവന്നു പാപബോധം വരും; അവൻ എല്ലാവരാലും വിവേചിക്കപ്പെടും.

English: And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you truthfully.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ ഹൃദയരഹസ്യങ്ങളും വെളിപ്പെട്ടുവരും; അങ്ങനെ അവൻ കവിണ്ണുവീണു, ദൈവം വാസ്തവമായി നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ ഉണ്ടു എന്നു ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ദൈവത്തെ നമസ്കരിക്കും.

English: How is it then, brethren? when all of you come together, every one of you has a psalm, has a doctrine, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ എന്തു? സഹോദരന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ കൂടിവരുമ്പോൾ ഓരോരുത്തന്നു സങ്കീർത്തനം ഉണ്ടു, ഉപദേശം ഉണ്ടു, വെളിപ്പാടു ഉണ്ടു, അന്യഭാഷ ഉണ്ടു, വ്യഖ്യാനം ഉണ്ടു, സകലവും ആത്മികവർദ്ധനെക്കായി ഉതകട്ടെ.

English: If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

Malayalam: അന്യഭാഷയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ രണ്ടു പേരോ ഏറിയാൽ മൂന്നുപേരോ ആകട്ടെ; അവർ ഓരോരുത്തനായി സംസാരിക്കയും ഒരുവൻ വ്യാഖ്യാനിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

English: But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

Malayalam: വ്യാഖ്യാനി ഇല്ലാഞ്ഞാൽ അന്യഭാഷക്കാരൻ സഭയിൽ മിണ്ടാതെ തന്നോടും ദൈവത്തോടും സംസാരിക്കട്ടെ.

English: Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

Malayalam: പ്രവാചകന്മാർ രണ്ടു മൂന്നു പേർ സംസാരിക്കയും മറ്റുള്ളവർ വിവേചിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

English: If any thing be revealed to another that sits by, let the first hold his peace.

Malayalam: ഇരിക്കുന്നവനായ മറ്റൊരുവന്നു വെളിപ്പാടുണ്ടായാലോ ഒന്നാമത്തവൻ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

English: For all of you may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

Malayalam: എല്ലാവരും പഠിപ്പാനും എല്ലാവർക്കും പ്രബോധനം ലഭിപ്പാനുമായി നിങ്ങൾക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും ഓരോരുത്തനായി പ്രവചിക്കാമല്ലോ.

English: And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

Malayalam: പ്രവാചകന്മാരുടെ ആത്മാക്കൾ പ്രവാചകന്മാർക്കു കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Malayalam: ദൈവം കലക്കത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമല്ല സമാധാനത്തിന്റെ ദൈവമത്രേ.

English: Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also says the law.

Malayalam: വിശുദ്ധന്മാരുടെ സർവ്വസഭകളിലും എന്നപോലെ സ്ത്രീകൾ സഭായോഗങ്ങളിൽ മിണ്ടാതിരിക്കട്ടെ; ന്യായപ്രമാണവും പറയുന്നതുപോലെ കീഴടങ്ങിയിരിപ്പാനല്ലാതെ സംസാരിപ്പാൻ അവർക്കു അനുവാദമില്ല.

English: And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

Malayalam: അവർ വല്ലതും പഠിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിക്കുന്നു എങ്കിൽ വീട്ടിൽവെച്ചു ഭർത്താക്കന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചുകൊള്ളട്ടേ; സ്ത്രീ സഭയിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു അനുചിതമല്ലോ.

English: What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

Malayalam: ദൈവവചനം നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നോ പുറപ്പെട്ടതു? അല്ല, നിങ്ങൾക്കു മാത്രമോ വന്നതു?

English: If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

Malayalam: താൻ പ്രവാചകൻ എന്നോ ആത്മികൻ എന്നോ ഒരുത്തന്നു തോന്നുന്നു എങ്കിൽ, ഞാൻ നിങ്ങൾക്കു എഴുതുന്നതു കർത്താവിന്റെ കല്പന ആകുന്നു എന്നു അവൻ അറിഞ്ഞുകൊള്ളട്ടെ.

English: But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

Malayalam: ഒരുവൻ അറിയുന്നില്ലെങ്കിൽ അവൻ അറിയാതിരിക്കട്ടെ.

English: Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

Malayalam: അതുകൊണ്ടു സഹോദരന്മാരേ, പ്രവചനവരം വാഞ്ഛിപ്പിൻ; അന്യഭാഷകളിൽ സംസാരിക്കുന്നതു വിലക്കുകയുമരുതു.

English: Let all things be done decently and in order.

Malayalam: സകലവും ഉചിതമായും ക്രമമായും നടക്കട്ടെ.
