Matthew 2

English: Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Malayalam: ഹെരോദാരാജാവിന്റെ കാലത്തു യേശു യെഹൂദ്യയിലെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ ജനിച്ചശേഷം, കിഴക്കുനിന്നു വിദ്വാന്മാർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ എത്തി.

English: Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

Malayalam: യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ രാജാവായി പിറന്നവൻ എവിടെ? ഞങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ നക്ഷത്രം കിഴക്കു കണ്ടു അവനെ നമസ്കരിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

Malayalam: ഹെരോദാരാജാവു അതു കേട്ടിട്ടു അവനും യെരൂശലേം ഒക്കെയും ഭ്രമിച്ചു,

English: And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

Malayalam: ജനത്തിന്റെ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ശാസ്ത്രിമാരെയും എല്ലാം കൂട്ടിവരുത്തി: ക്രിസ്തു എവിടെ ആകുന്നു ജനിക്കുന്നതു എന്നു അവരോടു ചോദിച്ചു.

English: And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

Malayalam: അവർ അവനോടു: യെഹൂദ്യയിലെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിൽ തന്നേ:

English: And you Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, are not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of you shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

Malayalam: “യെഹൂദ്യദേശത്തിലെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമേ, നീ യെഹൂദ്യപ്രഭുക്കന്മാരിൽ ഒട്ടും ചെറുതല്ല; എന്റെ ജനമായ യിസ്രായേലിനെ മേയ്പാനുള്ള തലവൻ നിന്നിൽ നിന്നു പുറപ്പെട്ടുവരും” എന്നിങ്ങനെ പ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then Herod, when he had privately called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

Malayalam: എന്നാറെ ഹെരോദാവു വിദ്വാന്മാരെ രഹസ്യമായി വിളിച്ചു, നക്ഷത്രം വെളിവായ സമയം അവരോടു സൂക്ഷ്മമായി ചോദിച്ചറിഞ്ഞു.

English: And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when all of you have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

Malayalam: അവരെ ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിലേക്കു അയച്ചു: നിങ്ങൾ ചെന്നു ശിശുവിനെക്കുറിച്ചു സൂക്ഷ്മമായി അന്വേഷിപ്പിൻ; കണ്ടെത്തിയാൽ ഞാനും ചെന്നു അവനെ നമസ്ക്കരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു, വന്നു എന്നെ അറിയിപ്പിൻ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

Malayalam: രാജാവു പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടു അവർ പുറപ്പെട്ടു; അവർ കിഴക്കു കണ്ട നക്ഷത്രം ശിശു ഇരിക്കുന്ന സ്ഥലത്തിന്നു മീതെ വന്നു നില്‌ക്കുവോളം അവർക്കു മുമ്പായി പൊയ്ക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

English: When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

Malayalam: നക്ഷത്രം കണ്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ അത്യന്തം സന്തോഷിച്ചു:

English: And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

Malayalam: ആ വീട്ടിൽ ചെന്നു, ശിശുവിനെ അമ്മയായ മറിയയോടുകൂടെ കണ്ടു, വീണു അവനെ നമസ്കരിച്ചു; നിക്ഷേപപാത്രങ്ങളെ തുറന്നു അവന്നു പൊന്നും കുന്തുരുക്കവും മൂരും കാഴ്ചവെച്ചു.

English: And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

Malayalam: ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ മടങ്ങിപ്പോകരുതു എന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായിട്ടു അവർ വേറെ വഴിയായി സ്വദേശത്തേക്കു മടങ്ങിപ്പോയി.

English: And when they were departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream, saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and flee into Egypt, and be you there until I bring you word: for Herod will seek the young child to destroy him.

Malayalam: അവർ പോയശേഷം കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ യോസേഫിന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി: നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിശുവിനെയും അമ്മയെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു ഓടിപ്പോയി, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുംവരെ അവിടെ പാർക്കുക. ഹെരോദാവു ശിശുവിനെ നശിപ്പിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു അവനെ അന്വേഷിപ്പാൻ ഭാവിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and departed into Egypt:

Malayalam: അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിശുവിനെയും അമ്മയെയും രാത്രിയിൽ തന്നേ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പുറപ്പെട്ടു മിസ്രയീമിലേക്കു പോയി.

English: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called my son.

Malayalam: ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ മരണത്തോളം അവൻ അവിടെ പാർത്തു: “മിസ്രയീമിൽ നിന്നു ഞാൻ എന്റെ മകനെ വിളിച്ചുവരുത്തി” എന്നു കർത്താവു പ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവൃത്തിയാകുവാൻ സംഗതിവന്നു.

English: Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding angry, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.

Malayalam: വിദ്വാന്മാർ തന്നെ കളിയാക്കി എന്നു ഹെരോദാവു കണ്ടു വളരെ കോപിച്ചു, വിദ്വാന്മാരോടു ചോദിച്ചറിഞ്ഞ കാലത്തിന്നു ഒത്തവണ്ണം രണ്ടു വയസ്സും താഴെയുമുള്ള ആൺകുട്ടികളെ ഒക്കെയും ബേത്ത്ളേഹെമിലും അതിന്റെ എല്ലാ അതിരുകളിലും ആളയച്ചു കൊല്ലിച്ചു.

English: Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying,

Malayalam: “റാമയിൽ ഒരു ശബ്ദം കേട്ടു, കരച്ചിലും വലിയ നിലവിളിയും തന്നേ; റാഹേൽ മക്കളെച്ചൊല്ലി കരഞ്ഞു; അവർ ഇല്ലായ്കയാൽ ആശ്വാസം കൈക്കൊൾവാൻ മനസ്സില്ലാതിരുന്നു”

English: In Rama was there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are not.

Malayalam: എന്നു യിരെമ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ മുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു അന്നു നിവൃത്തിയായി.

English: But when Herod was dead, behold, an angel of the Lord appears in a dream to Joseph in Egypt,

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ഹെരോദാവു കഴിഞ്ഞുപോയശേഷം കർത്താവിന്റെ ദൂതൻ മിസ്രയീമിൽ വെച്ചു യോസേഫിന്നു സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ പ്രത്യക്ഷനായി:

English: Saying, Arise, and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child's life.

Malayalam: ശിശുവിന്നു പ്രാണഹാനി വരുത്തുവാൻ നോക്കിയവർ മരിച്ചുപോയതുകൊണ്ടു നീ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിശുവിനെയും അമ്മയേയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തേക്കു പോക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel.

Malayalam: അവൻ എഴുന്നേറ്റു ശിശുവിനെയും അമ്മയെയും കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു യിസ്രായേൽദേശത്തു വന്നു.

English: But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee:

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ യെഹൂദ്യയിൽ അർക്കെലയൊസ് തന്റെ അപ്പനായ ഹെരോദാവിന്നു പകരം വാഴുന്നു എന്നു കേട്ടതുകൊണ്ടു അവിടെ പോകുവാൻ ഭയപ്പെട്ടു, സ്വപ്നത്തിൽ അരുളപ്പാടുണ്ടായിട്ടു ഗലീലപ്രദേശങ്ങളിലേക്കു മാറിപ്പോയി.

English: And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

Malayalam: അവൻ നസറായൻ എന്നു വിളിക്കപ്പെടും എന്നു പ്രവാചകന്മാർമുഖാന്തരം അരുളിച്ചെയ്തതു നിവൃത്തിയാവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം നസറെത്ത് എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിൽ ചെന്നു പാർത്തു.
