Proverbs 21

English: The king's heart is in the hand of the LORD, as the rivers of water: he turns it anywhere he will.

Malayalam: രാജാവിന്റെ ഹൃദയം യഹോവയുടെ കയ്യിൽ നീർത്തോടുകണക്കെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; തനിക്കു ഇഷ്ടമുള്ളേടത്തേക്കൊക്കെയും അവൻ അതിനെ തിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Every way of a man is right in his own eyes: but the LORD ponders the hearts.

Malayalam: മനുഷ്യന്റെ വഴി ഒക്കെയും അവന്നു ചൊവ്വായിത്തോന്നുന്നു; യഹോവയോ ഹൃദയങ്ങളെ തൂക്കിനോക്കുന്നു.

English: To do justice and judgment is more acceptable to the LORD than sacrifice.

Malayalam: നീതിയും ന്യായവും പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതു യഹോവെക്കു ഹനനയാഗത്തെക്കാൾ ഇഷ്ടം.

English: An high look, and a proud heart, and the plowing of the wicked, is sin.

Malayalam: ഗർവ്വമുള്ള കണ്ണും അഹങ്കാരഹൃദയവും ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ദീപവും പാപം തന്നേ.

English: The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to lack.

Malayalam: ഉത്സാഹിയുടെ വിചാരങ്ങൾ സമൃദ്ധിഹേതുകങ്ങൾ ആകുന്നു; ബദ്ധപ്പാടുകാരൊക്കെയും ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടിലേക്കത്രേ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നതു.

English: The getting of treasures by a lying tongue is a vanity tossed back and forth of them that seek death.

Malayalam: കള്ളനാവുകൊണ്ടു ധനം സമ്പാദിക്കുന്നതു പാറിപ്പോകുന്ന ആവിയാകുന്നു; അതിനെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവർ മരണത്തെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു.

English: The robbery of the wicked shall destroy them; because they refuse to do judgment.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ സാഹസം അവർക്കു നാശഹേതുവാകുന്നു; ന്യായം ചെയ്‍വാൻ അവർക്കു മനസ്സില്ലല്ലോ.

English: The way of man is perverse and strange: but as for the pure, his work is right.

Malayalam: അകൃത്യഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവന്റെ വഴി വളഞ്ഞിരിക്കുന്നു; നിർമ്മലന്റെ പ്രവൃത്തിയോ ചൊവ്വുള്ളതു തന്നേ.

English: It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house.

Malayalam: ശണ്ഠകൂടുന്ന സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ പൊതുവീട്ടിൽ പാർക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ മേൽപുരയുടെ ഒരു കോണിൽ പാർക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

English: The soul of the wicked desires evil: his neighbour finds no favour in his eyes.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്റെ മനസ്സു ദോഷത്തെ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; അവന്നു കൂട്ടുകാരനോടു ദയ തോന്നുന്നതുമില്ല.

English: When the scorner is punished, the simple is made wise: and when the wise is instructed, he receives knowledge.

Malayalam: പരിഹാസിയെ ശിക്ഷിച്ചാൽ അല്പബുദ്ധി ജ്ഞാനിയായ്തീരും; ജ്ഞാനിയെ ഉപദേശിച്ചാൽ അവൻ പരിജ്ഞാനം പ്രാപിക്കും.

English: The righteous man wisely considers the house of the wicked: but God overthrows the wicked for their wickedness.

Malayalam: നീതിമാനായവൻ ദുഷ്ടന്റെ ഭവനത്തിന്മേൽ ദൃഷ്ടിവെക്കുന്നു; ദുഷ്ടന്മാരെ നാശത്തിലേക്കു മറിച്ചുകളയുന്നു.

English: Whoso stops his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Malayalam: എളിയവന്റെ നിലവിളിക്കു ചെവി പൊത്തിക്കളയുന്നവൻ താനും വിളിച്ചപേക്ഷിക്കും; ഉത്തരം ലഭിക്കയില്ല.

English: A gift in secret pacifies anger: and a reward in the bosom strong wrath.

Malayalam: രഹസ്യത്തിൽ ചെയ്യുന്ന ദാനം കോപത്തെയും മടിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുന്ന സമ്മാനം ഉഗ്രകോപത്തെയും ശമിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.

English: It is joy to the just to do judgment: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

Malayalam: ന്യായം പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നതു നീതിമാന്നു സന്തോഷവും ദുഷ്‌പ്രവൃത്തിക്കാർക്കു ഭയങ്കരവും ആകുന്നു.

English: The man that wanders out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.

Malayalam: വിവേകമാർഗ്ഗം വിട്ടുനടക്കുന്നവൻ മൃതന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ വിശ്രമിക്കും.

English: He that loves pleasure shall be a poor man: he that loves wine and oil shall not be rich.

Malayalam: ഉല്ലാസപ്രിയൻ ദരിദ്രനായ്തീരും; വീഞ്ഞും തൈലവും പ്രിയപ്പെടുന്നവൻ ധനവാനാകയില്ല.

English: The wicked shall be a ransom for the righteous, and the transgressor for the upright.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടൻ നീതിമാന്നു മറുവിലയാകും; ദ്രോഹി നേരുള്ളവർക്കും പകരമായ്തീരും.

English: It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.

Malayalam: ശണ്ഠയും ദുശ്ശീലവുമുള്ള സ്ത്രീയോടുകൂടെ പാർക്കുന്നതിലും നിർജ്ജനപ്രദേശത്തു പോയി പാർക്കുന്നതു നല്ലതു.

English: There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spends it up.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനിയുടെ പാർപ്പിടത്തിൽ വിലയേറിയ നിക്ഷേപവും തൈലവും ഉണ്ടു; മൂഢനോ അവയെ ദുർവ്യയം ചെയ്തുകളയുന്നു.

English: He that follows after righteousness and mercy finds life, righteousness, and honour.

Malayalam: നീതിയും ദയയും പിന്തുടരുന്നവൻ ജീവനും നീതിയും മാനവും കണ്ടെത്തും.

English: A wise man scales the city of the mighty, and casts down the strength of the confidence thereof.

Malayalam: ജ്ഞാനി വീരന്മാരുടെ പട്ടണത്തിൽ കയറുകയും അതിന്റെ ആശ്രയമായ കോട്ടയെ ഇടിച്ചുകളകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: Whoso keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps his soul from troubles.

Malayalam: വായും നാവും സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നവൻ തന്റെ പ്രാണനെ കഷ്ടങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു സൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നു.

English: Proud and haughty scorner is his name, who deals in proud wrath.

Malayalam: നിഗളവും ഗർവ്വവും ഉള്ളവന്നു പരിഹാസി എന്നു പേർ; അവൻ ഗർവ്വത്തിന്റെ അഹങ്കാരത്തോടെ പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്നു.

English: The desire of the slothful kills him; for his hands refuse to labour.

Malayalam: മടിയന്റെ കൊതി അവന്നു മരണഹേതു; വേലചെയ്‍വാൻ അവന്റെ കൈകൾ മടിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ.

English: He covers greedily all the day long: but the righteous gives and spares not.

Malayalam: ചിലർ നിത്യം അത്യാഗ്രഹത്തോടെ ഇരിക്കുന്നു; നീതിമാനോ ലോഭിക്കാതെ കൊടുത്തുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he brings it with a wicked mind?

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ഹനനയാഗം വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു; അവൻ ദുരാന്തരത്തോടെ അതു അർപ്പിച്ചാൽ എത്ര അധികം!

English: A false witness shall perish: but the man that hears speaks constantly.

Malayalam: കള്ളസ്സാക്ഷി നശിച്ചുപോകും; ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചുകേൾക്കുന്നവന്നോ എപ്പോഴും സംസാരിക്കാം.

English: A wicked man hardens his face: but as for the upright, he directs his way.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടൻ മുഖധാർഷ്ട്യം കാണിക്കുന്നു; നേരുള്ളവനോ തന്റെ വഴി നന്നാക്കുന്നു.

English: There is no wisdom nor understanding nor counsel against the LORD.

Malayalam: യഹോവെക്കെതിരെ ജ്ഞാനവുമില്ല, ബുദ്ധിയുമില്ല, ആലോചനയുമില്ല.

English: The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD.

Malayalam: കുതിരയെ യുദ്ധദിവസത്തേക്കു ചമയിക്കുന്നു; ജയമോ യഹോവയുടെ കൈവശത്തിലിരിക്കുന്നു.
