Proverbs 31

English: The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

Malayalam: ലെമൂവേൽരാജാവിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ; അവന്റെ അമ്മ അവന്നു ഉപദേശിച്ചു കൊടുത്ത അരുളപ്പാടു.

English: What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

Malayalam: മകനേ, എന്തു? ഞാൻ പ്രസവിച്ച മകനേ എന്തു? എന്റെ നേർച്ചകളുടെ മകനേ, എന്തു?

English: Give not your strength unto women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.

Malayalam: സ്ത്രീകൾക്കു നിന്റെ ബലത്തെയും രാജാക്കന്മാരെ നശിപ്പിക്കുന്നവർക്കു നിന്റെ വഴികളെയും കൊടുക്കരുതു.

English: It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Malayalam: വീഞ്ഞു കുടിക്കുന്നതു രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കു കൊള്ളരുതു; ലെമൂവേലേ, രാജാക്കന്മാർക്കു അതു കൊള്ളരുതു; മദ്യസക്തി പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർക്കു കൊള്ളരുതു.

English: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Malayalam: അവർ കുടിച്ചിട്ടു നിയമം മറന്നുപോകുവാനും അരിഷ്ടന്മാരുടെ ന്യായം മറിച്ചുകളവാനും ഇടവരരുതു.

English: Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Malayalam: നശിക്കുമാറായിരിക്കുന്നവന്നു മദ്യവും മനോവ്യസനമുള്ളവന്നു വീഞ്ഞും കൊടുക്ക.

English: Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Malayalam: അവൻ കുടിച്ചിട്ടു തന്റെ ദാരിദ്ര്യം മറക്കയും തന്റെ അരിഷ്ടത ഓർക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യട്ടെ.

English: Open your mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Malayalam: ഊമന്നു വേണ്ടി നിന്റെ വായ് തുറക്ക; ക്ഷയിച്ചുപോകുന്ന ഏവരുടെയും കാര്യത്തിൽ തന്നേ.

English: Open your mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

Malayalam: നിന്റെ വായ് തുറന്നു നീതിയോടെ ന്യായം വിധിക്ക; എളിയവന്നും ദരിദ്രന്നും ന്യായപാലനം ചെയ്തുകൊടുക്ക.

English: Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Malayalam: സാമർത്ഥ്യമുള്ള ഭാര്യയെ ആർക്കു കിട്ടും? അവളുടെ വില മുത്തുകളിലും ഏറും.

English: The heart of her husband does safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Malayalam: ഭർത്താവിന്റെ ഹൃദയം അവളെ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ ലാഭത്തിന്നു ഒരു കുറവുമില്ല.

English: She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

Malayalam: അവൾ തന്റെ ആയുഷ്കാലമൊക്കെയും അവന്നു തിന്മയല്ല നന്മ തന്നേ ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: She seeks wool, and flax, and works willingly with her hands.

Malayalam: അവൾ ആട്ടുരോമവും ചണവും സമ്പാദിച്ചു താല്പര്യത്തോടെ കൈകൊണ്ടു വേലചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: She is like the merchants' ships; she brings her food from far.

Malayalam: അവൾ കച്ചവടക്കപ്പൽ പോലെയാകുന്നു; ദൂരത്തുനിന്നു ആഹാരം കൊണ്ടുവരുന്നു.

English: She rises also while it is yet night, and gives food to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

Malayalam: അവൾ നന്നരാവിലെ എഴുന്നേറ്റു, വീട്ടിലുള്ളവർക്കു ആഹാരവും വേലക്കാരത്തികൾക്കു ഓഹരിയും കൊടുക്കുന്നു.

English: She considers a field, and buys it: with the fruit of her hands she plants a vineyard.

Malayalam: അവൾ ഒരു നിലത്തിന്മേൽ ദൃഷ്ടിവെച്ചു അതു മേടിക്കുന്നു; കൈനേട്ടംകൊണ്ടു അവൾ ഒരു മുന്തിരിത്തോട്ടം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.

English: She girds her loins with strength, and strengthens her arms.

Malayalam: അവൾ ബലംകൊണ്ടു അര മുറക്കുകയും ഭുജങ്ങളെ ശക്തീകരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: She perceives that her merchandise is good: her candle goes not out by night.

Malayalam: തന്റെ വ്യാപാരം ആദായമുള്ളതെന്നു അവൾ ഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നു; അവളുടെ വിളക്കു രാത്രിയിൽ കെട്ടുപോകുന്നതുമില്ല.

English: She lays her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

Malayalam: അവൾ വിടുത്തലെക്കു കൈ നീട്ടുന്നു; അവളുടെ വിരൽ കതിർ പിടിക്കുന്നു.

English: She stretches out her hand to the poor; yea, she reachs forth her hands to the needy.

Malayalam: അവൾ തന്റെ കൈ എളിയവർക്കു തുറക്കുന്നു; ദരിദ്രന്മാരുടെ അടുക്കലേക്കു കൈ നീട്ടുന്നു.

English: She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

Malayalam: തന്റെ വീട്ടുകാരെച്ചൊല്ലി അവൾ ഹിമത്തെ പേടിക്കുന്നില്ല; അവളുടെ വീട്ടിലുള്ളവർക്കൊക്കെയും ചുവപ്പു കമ്പളി ഉണ്ടല്ലോ.

English: She makes herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

Malayalam: അവൾ തനിക്കു പരവതാനി ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; ശണപടവും ധൂമ്രവസ്ത്രവും അവളുടെ ഉടുപ്പു.

English: Her husband is known in the gates, when he sits among the elders of the land.

Malayalam: ദേശത്തിലെ മൂപ്പന്മാരോടുകൂടെ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവു പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ പ്രസിദ്ധനാകുന്നു.

English: She makes fine linen, and sells it; and delivers girdles unto the merchant.

Malayalam: അവൾ ശണവസ്ത്രം ഉണ്ടാക്കി വില്ക്കുന്നു; അരക്കച്ച ഉണ്ടാക്കി കച്ചവടക്കാരനെ ഏല്പിക്കുന്നു.

English: Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

Malayalam: ബലവും മഹിമയും അവളുടെ ഉടുപ്പു; ഭാവികാലം ഓർത്തു അവൾ പുഞ്ചിരിയിടുന്നു.

English: She opens her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Malayalam: അവൾ ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ വായ് തുറക്കുന്നു; ദയയുള്ള ഉപദേശം അവളുടെ നാവിന്മേൽ ഉണ്ടു.

English: She looks well to the ways of her household, and eats not the bread of idleness.

Malayalam: വീട്ടുകാരുടെ പെരുമാറ്റം അവൾ സൂക്ഷിച്ചു നോക്കുന്നു; വെറുതെ ഇരുന്നു അഹോവൃത്തി കഴിക്കുന്നില്ല.

English: Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her.

Malayalam: അവളുടെ മക്കൾ എഴുന്നേറ്റു അവളെ ഭാഗ്യവതി എന്നു പുകഴ്ത്തുന്നു; അവളുടെ ഭർത്താവും അവളെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നതു:

English: Many daughters have done virtuously, but you excel them all.

Malayalam: അനേകം തരുണികൾ സാമർത്ഥ്യം കാണിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു; നീയോ അവരെല്ലാവരിലും ശ്രേഷ്ഠയായിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Malayalam: ലാവണ്യം വ്യാജവും സൌന്ദര്യം വ്യർത്ഥവും ആകുന്നു; യഹോവാഭക്തിയുള്ള സ്ത്രീയോ പ്രശംസിക്കപ്പെടും.

English: Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Malayalam: അവളുടെ കൈകളുടെ ഫലം അവൾക്കു കൊടുപ്പിൻ; അവളുടെ സ്വന്തപ്രവൃത്തികൾ പട്ടണവാതിൽക്കൽ അവളെ പ്രശംസിക്കട്ടെ.
