Proverbs 30

English: The words of Agur the son of Jakeh, even the prophecy: the man spoke unto Ithiel, even unto Ithiel and Ucal,

Malayalam: യാക്കേയുടെ മകനായ ആഗൂരിന്റെ വചനങ്ങൾ; ഒരു അരുളപ്പാടു; ആ പുരുഷന്റെ വാക്യമാവിതു: ദൈവമേ, ഞാൻ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചു, ദൈവമേ, ഞാൻ അദ്ധ്വാനിച്ചു ക്ഷയിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Surely I am more brutish than any man, and have not the understanding of a man.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ സകലമനുഷ്യരിലും മൃഗപ്രായനത്രേ; മാനുഷബുദ്ധി എനിക്കില്ല;

English: I neither learned wisdom, nor have the knowledge of the holy.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ജ്ഞാനം അഭ്യസിച്ചിട്ടില്ല; പരിശുദ്ധനായവന്റെ പരിജ്ഞാനം എനിക്കില്ല.

English: Who has ascended up into heaven, or descended? who has gathered the wind in his fists? who has bound the waters in a garment? who has established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son's name, if you can tell?

Malayalam: സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽ കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങിവരികയും ചെയ്തവൻ ആർ? കാറ്റിനെ തന്റെ മുഷ്ടിയിൽ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയവൻ ആർ? വെള്ളങ്ങളെ വസ്ത്രത്തിൽ കെട്ടിയവൻ ആർ? ഭൂമിയുടെ അറുതികളെയൊക്കെയും നിയമിച്ചവൻ ആർ? അവന്റെ പേരെന്തു? അവന്റെ മകന്റെ പേർ എന്തു? നിനക്കറിയാമോ?

English: Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.

Malayalam: ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സകലവചനവും ശുദ്ധിചെയ്തതാകുന്നു; തന്നിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവർക്കു അവൻ പരിച തന്നേ.

English: Add you not unto his words, lest he reprove you, and you be found a liar.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ വചനങ്ങളോടു നീ ഒന്നും കൂട്ടരുതു; അവൻ നിന്നെ വിസ്തരിച്ചിട്ടു നീ കള്ളനാകുവാൻ ഇട വരരുതു.

English: Two things have I required of you; deny me them not before I die:

Malayalam: രണ്ടു കാര്യം ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നു; ജീവപര്യന്തം അവ എനിക്കു നിഷേധിക്കരുതേ;

English: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me:

Malayalam: വ്യാജവും ഭോഷ്കും എന്നോടു അകറ്റേണമേ; ദാരിദ്ര്യവും സമ്പത്തും എനിക്കു തരാതെ നിത്യവൃത്തി തന്നു എന്നെ പോഷിപ്പിക്കേണമേ.

English: Lest I be full, and deny you, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ തൃപ്തനായിത്തീർന്നിട്ടു: യഹോവ ആർ എന്നു നിന്നെ നിഷേധിപ്പാനും ദരിദ്രനായിത്തീർന്നിട്ടു മോഷ്ടിച്ചു എന്റെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ നാമത്തെ തീണ്ടിപ്പാനും സംഗതി വരരുതേ.

English: Accuse not a servant unto his master, lest he curse you, and you be found guilty.

Malayalam: ദാസനെക്കുറിച്ചു യജമാനനോടു ഏഷണി പറയരുതു; അവൻ നിന്നെ ശപിപ്പാനും നീ കുറ്റക്കാരനായിത്തീരുവാനും ഇടവരരുതു.

English: There is a generation that curses their father, and does not bless their mother.

Malayalam: അപ്പനെ ശപിക്കയും അമ്മയെ അനുഗ്രഹിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നോരു തലമുറ!

English: There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Malayalam: തങ്ങൾക്കു തന്നേ നിർമ്മലരായിത്തോന്നുന്നവരും അശുദ്ധി കഴുകിക്കളയാത്തവരുമായോരു തലമുറ!

English: There is a generation, O how lofty are their eyes! and their eyelids are lifted up.

Malayalam: അയ്യോ ഈ തലമുറയുടെ കണ്ണുകൾ എത്ര ഉയർന്നിരിക്കുന്നു -- അവരുടെ കണ്ണിമകൾ എത്ര പൊങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു --

English: There is a generation, whose teeth are as swords, and their jaw teeth as knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men.

Malayalam: എളിയവരെ ഭൂമിയിൽനിന്നും ദരിദ്രരെ മനുഷ്യരുടെ ഇടയിൽനിന്നും തിന്നുകളവാൻ തക്കവണ്ണം മുമ്പല്ലു വാളായും അണപ്പല്ലു കത്തിയായും ഇരിക്കുന്നോരു തലമുറ!

English: The horseleach has two daughters, crying, Give, give. There are three things that are never satisfied, yea, four things say not, It is enough:

Malayalam: കന്നട്ടെക്കു: തരിക, തരിക എന്ന രണ്ടു പുത്രിമാർ ഉണ്ടു; ഒരിക്കലും തൃപ്തിവരാത്തതു മൂന്നുണ്ടു; മതി എന്നു പറയാത്തതു നാലുണ്ടു:

English: The grave; and the barren womb; the earth that is not filled with water; and the fire that says not, It is enough.

Malayalam: പാതാളവും വന്ധ്യയുടെ ഗർഭപാത്രവും വെള്ളം കുടിച്ചു തൃപ്തിവരാത്ത ഭൂമിയും മതി എന്നു പറയാത്ത തീയും തന്നേ.

English: The eye that mocks at his father, and despises to obey his mother, the ravens of the valley shall pick it out, and the young eagles shall eat it.

Malayalam: അപ്പനെ പരിഹസിക്കയും അമ്മയെ അനുസരിക്കാതിരിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്ന കണ്ണിനെ തോട്ടരികത്തെ കാക്ക കൊത്തിപ്പറിക്കയും കഴുകിൻ കുഞ്ഞുകൾ തിന്നുകയും ചെയ്യും.

English: There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not:

Malayalam: എനിക്കു അതിവിസ്മയമായി തോന്നുന്നതു മൂന്നുണ്ടു; എനിക്കു അറിഞ്ഞുകൂടാത്തതു നാലുണ്ടു:

English: The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.

Malayalam: ആകാശത്തു കഴുകന്റെ വഴിയും പാറമേൽ സർപ്പത്തിന്റെ വഴിയും സമുദ്രമദ്ധ്യേ കപ്പലിന്റെ വഴിയും കന്യകയോടുകൂടെ പുരുഷന്റെ വഴിയും തന്നേ.

English: Such is the way of an adulterous woman; she eats, and wipes her mouth, and says, I have done no wickedness.

Malayalam: വ്യഭിചാരിണിയുടെ വഴിയും അങ്ങനെ തന്നേ. അവൾ തിന്നു വായ് തുടെച്ചിട്ടു ഞാൻ ഒരു ദോഷവും ചെയ്തിട്ടില്ലെന്നു പറയുന്നു.

English: For three things the earth is disquieted, and for four which it cannot bear:

Malayalam: മൂന്നിന്റെ നിമിത്തം ഭൂമി വിറെക്കുന്നു; നാലിന്റെ നിമിത്തം അതിന്നു സഹിച്ചു കൂടാ:

English: For a servant when he reigns; and a fool when he is filled with food;

Malayalam: ദാസൻ രാജാവായാൽ അവന്റെ നിമിത്തവും ഭോഷൻ തിന്നു തൃപ്തനായാൽ അവന്റെ നിമിത്തവും

English: For an abhorrent woman when she is married; and an handmaid that is heir to her mistress.

Malayalam: വിലക്ഷണെക്കു വിവാഹം കഴിഞ്ഞാൽ അവളുടെ നിമിത്തവും ദാസി യജമാനത്തിയുടെ സ്ഥാനം പ്രാപിച്ചാൽ അവളുടെ നിമിത്തവും തന്നേ.

English: There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise:

Malayalam: ഭൂമിയിൽ എത്രയും ചെറിയവയെങ്കിലും അത്യന്തം ജ്ഞാനമുള്ളവയായിട്ടു നാലുണ്ടു:

English: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their food in the summer;

Malayalam: ഉറുമ്പു ബലഹീനജാതി എങ്കിലും അതു വേനൽക്കാലത്തു ആഹാരം സമ്പാദിച്ചു വെക്കുന്നു.

English: The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks;

Malayalam: കുഴിമുയൽ ശക്തിയില്ലാത്ത ജാതി എങ്കിലും അതു പാറയിൽ പാർപ്പിടം ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു.

English: The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands;

Malayalam: വെട്ടുക്കിളിക്കു രാജാവില്ല എങ്കിലും അതൊക്കെയും അണിയണിയായി പുറപ്പെടുന്നു.

English: The spider takes hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.

Malayalam: പല്ലിയെ കൈകൊണ്ടു പിടിക്കാം എങ്കിലും അതു രാജാക്കന്മാരുടെ അരമനകളിൽ പാർക്കുന്നു.

English: There be three things which go well, yea, four are comely in going:

Malayalam: ചന്തമായി നടകൊള്ളുന്നതു മൂന്നുണ്ടു; ചന്തമായി നടക്കുന്നതു നാലുണ്ടു:

English: A lion which is strongest among beasts, and turns not away for any;

Malayalam: മൃഗങ്ങളിൽവെച്ചു ശക്തിയേറിയതും ഒന്നിന്നും വഴിമാറാത്തതുമായ സിംഹവും

English: A greyhound; an he goat also; and a king, against whom there is no rising up.

Malayalam: നായാട്ടുനായും കോലാട്ടുകൊറ്റനും സൈന്യസമേതനായ രാജാവും തന്നേ.

English: If you have done foolishly in lifting up yourself, or if you have thought evil, lay yours hand upon your mouth.

Malayalam: നീ നിഗളിച്ചു ഭോഷത്വം പ്രവർത്തിക്കയോ ദോഷം നിരൂപിക്കയോ ചെയ്തുപോയെങ്കിൽ കൈകൊണ്ടു വായ് പൊത്തിക്കൊൾക.

English: Surely the churning of milk brings forth butter, and the wringing of the nose brings forth blood: so the forcing of wrath brings forth strife.

Malayalam: പാൽ കടഞ്ഞാൽ വെണ്ണയുണ്ടാകും; മൂകൂ ഞെക്കിയാൽ ചോര വരും; കോപം ഇളക്കിയാൽ വഴക്കുണ്ടാകും.
