Acts 23

English: And Paul, earnestly beholding the council, said, Men and brethren, I have lived in all good conscience before God until this day.

Malayalam: പൌലൊസ് ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തെ ഉറ്റുനോക്കി: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാൻ ഇന്നേ ദിവസത്തോളവും കേവലം നല്ല മനസ്സാക്ഷിയോടുംകൂടെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മുമ്പാകെ നടന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And the high priest Ananias commanded them that stood by him to strike him on the mouth.

Malayalam: അപ്പോൾ മഹാപുരോഹിതനായ അനന്യാസ് അരികെ നില്ക്കുന്നവരോടു അവന്റെ വായിക്കു അടിപ്പാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

English: Then said Paul unto him, God shall strike you, you whitewashed wall: for sit you to judge me after the law, and command me to be smitten contrary to the law?

Malayalam: പൌലൊസ് അവനോടു: ദൈവം നിന്നെ അടിക്കും വെള്ള തേച്ച ചുവരേ; നീ ന്യായപ്രമാണപ്രകാരം എന്നെ വിസ്തരിപ്പാൻ ഇരിക്കയും ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിന്നു വിരോധമായി എന്നെ അടിപ്പാൻ കല്പിക്കയും ചെയ്യുന്നുവോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And they that stood by said, Revile you God's high priest?

Malayalam: അരികെ നില്ക്കുന്നവർ: നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ മഹാപുരോഹിതനെ ശകാരിക്കുന്നുവോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

English: Then said Paul, I know not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, You shall not speak evil of the ruler of your people.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു പെലൊസ്: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, മഹാപുരോഹിതൻ എന്നു ഞാൻ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; “നിന്റെ ജനത്തിന്റെ അധിപതിയെ ദുഷിക്കരുതു എന്നു എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നുവല്ലോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: But when Paul perceived that the one part were Sadducees, and the other Pharisees, he cried out in the council, Men and brethren, I am a Pharisee, the son of a Pharisee: of the hope and resurrection of the dead I am called in question.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിൽ ഒരു പക്ഷം സദൂക്യരും ഒരുപക്ഷം പരീശന്മാരും ആകുന്നു എന്നു പൌലൊസ് അറിഞ്ഞു: സഹോദരന്മാരേ, ഞാൻ ഒരു പരീശനും പരീശന്മാരുടെ മകനും ആകുന്നു; മരിച്ചവരുടെ പ്രത്യാശയെയും പുനരുത്ഥാനത്തെയും കുറിച്ചു ഞാൻ വിസ്താരത്തിലായിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And when he had so said, there arose a dissension between the Pharisees and the Sadducees: and the multitude was divided.

Malayalam: അവൻ ഇതു പറഞ്ഞപ്പോൾ പരീശന്മാരും സദൂക്യരും തമ്മിൽ ഇടഞ്ഞു സംഘം ഛിദ്രിച്ചു.

English: For the Sadducees say that there is no resurrection, neither angel, nor spirit: but the Pharisees confess both.

Malayalam: പുനരുത്ഥാനം ഇല്ല ദൂതനും ആത്മാവും ഇല്ല എന്നു സദൂക്യർ പറയുന്നു; പരീശന്മാരോ രണ്ടും ഉണ്ടെന്നു പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നു.

English: And there arose a great cry: and the scribes that were of the Pharisees' part arose, and strove, saying, We find no evil in this man: but if a spirit or an angel has spoken to him, let us not fight against God.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ വലിയോരു നിലവിളി ഉണ്ടായി; പരീശപക്ഷത്തിലെ ശാസ്ത്രിമാരിൽ ചിലർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു വാദിച്ചു: ഈ മനുഷ്യനിൽ ഞങ്ങൾ ഒരു കുറ്റവും കാണുന്നില്ല; ഒരാത്മാവോ ഒരു ദൂതനോ അവനോടു സംസാരിച്ചു എന്നു വന്നേക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And when there arose a great dissension, the chief captain, fearing lest Paul should have been pulled in pieces of them, commanded the soldiers to go down, and to take him by force from among them, and to bring him into the castle.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ വലിയ ഇടച്ചൽ ആയതുകൊണ്ടു അവർ പൌലൊസിനെ ചീന്തിക്കളയും എന്നു സഹസ്രാധിപൻ പേടിച്ചു, പടയാളികൾ ഇറങ്ങിവന്നു അവനെ അവരുടെ നടുവിൽ നിന്നു പിടിച്ചെടുത്തു കോട്ടയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോകുവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.

English: And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as you have testified of me in Jerusalem, so must you bear witness also at Rome.

Malayalam: രാത്രിയിൽ കർത്താവു അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ നിന്നു: ധൈര്യമായിരിക്ക; നീ എന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു യെരൂശലേമിൽ സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചതുപോലെ റോമയിലും സാക്ഷീകരിക്കേണ്ടതാകുന്നു എന്നു അരുളിച്ചെയ്തു.

English: And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul.

Malayalam: നേരം വെളുത്തപ്പോൾ ചില യെഹൂദന്മാർ തമ്മിൽ യോജിച്ചു പൌലൊസിനെ കൊന്നുകളയുവോളം ഒന്നും തിന്നുകയോ കുടിക്കയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ശപഥം ചെയ്തു.

English: And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy.

Malayalam: ഈ ശപഥം ചെയ്തവർ നാല്പതിൽ അധികംപേർ ആയിരുന്നു.

English: And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

Malayalam: അവർ മഹാപുരോഹിതന്മാരുടെയും മൂപ്പന്മാരുടെയും അടുക്കൽ ചെന്നു: ഞങ്ങൾ പൌലൊസിനെ കൊന്നുകളയുവോളം ഒന്നും ആസ്വദിക്കയില്ല എന്നൊരു കഠിനശപഥം ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Now therefore all of you with the council signify to the chief captain that he bring him down unto you tomorrow, as though all of you would enquire something more perfectly concerning him: and we, before even he comes near, are ready to kill him.

Malayalam: ആകയാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ കാര്യം അധികം സൂക്ഷമത്തോടെ പരിശോധിക്കേണം എന്നുള്ള ഭാവത്തിൽ അവനെ നിങ്ങളുടെ അടുക്കൽ താഴെ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ ന്യായാധിപസംഘവുമായി സഹസ്രാധിപനോടു അപേക്ഷിപ്പിൻ; എന്നാൽ അവൻ സമീപിക്കും മുമ്പെ ഞങ്ങൾ അവനെ ഒടുക്കിക്കളവാൻ ഒരുങ്ങിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And when Paul's sister's son heard of their lying in wait, he went and entered into the castle, and told Paul.

Malayalam: ഈ പതിയിരിപ്പിനെക്കുറിച്ചു പൌലൊസിന്റെ പെങ്ങളുടെ മകൻ കേട്ടിട്ടു ചെന്നു കോട്ടയിൽ കടന്നു പൌലൊസിനോടു അറിയിച്ചു.

English: Then Paul called one of the centurions unto him, and said, Bring this young man unto the chief captain: for he has a certain thing to tell him.

Malayalam: പൌലൊസ് ശതാധിപന്മാരിൽ ഒരുത്തനെ വിളിച്ചു: ഈ യൌവനക്കാരന്നു സഹസ്രാധിപനോടു ഒരു കാര്യം അറിയിപ്പാനുള്ളതിനാൽ അവനെ അങ്ങോട്ടു കൊണ്ടു പോകേണം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So he took him, and brought him to the chief captain, and said, Paul the prisoner called me unto him, and prayed me to bring this young man unto you, who has something to say unto you.

Malayalam: അവൻ അവനെ കൂട്ടി സഹസ്രാധിപന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു: തടവുകാരനായ പൌലൊസ് എന്നെ വിളിച്ചു, നിന്നോടു ഒരു കാര്യം പറവാനുള്ള ഈ യൌവനക്കാരനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവരുവാൻ എന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിച്ചു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then the chief captain took him by the hand, and went with him aside privately, and asked him, What is that you have to tell me?

Malayalam: സഹസ്രാധിപൻ അവനെ കൈക്കു പിടിച്ചു മാറിനിന്നു: എന്നോടു ബോധിപ്പിപ്പാനുള്ളതു എന്തു എന്നു സ്വകാര്യമായി ചോദിച്ചു.

English: And he said, The Jews have agreed to desire you that you would bring down Paul tomorrow into the council, as though they would enquire somewhat of him more perfectly.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു അവൻ: യെഹൂദന്മാർ പൌലൊസിനെക്കുറിച്ചു അധികം സൂക്ഷമത്തോടെ വിസ്താരം കഴിക്കേണമെന്നുള്ള ഭാവത്തിൽ വന്നു നാളെ അവനെ ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിലേക്കു കൊണ്ടുവരേണ്ടതിന്നു നിന്നോടു അപേക്ഷിപ്പാൻ ഒത്തു കൂടിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: But do not you yield unto them: for there lie in wait for him of them more than forty men, which have bound themselves with an oath, that they will neither eat nor drink till they have killed him: and now are they ready, looking for a promise from you.

Malayalam: നീ അവരെ വിശ്വസിച്ചു പോകരുതു; അവരിൽ നാല്പതിൽ അധികം പേർ അവനെ ഒടുക്കിക്കളയുവോളം ഒന്നും തിന്നുകയോ കുടിക്കയോ ചെയ്കയില്ല എന്നു ശപഥംചെയ്തു അവന്നായി പതിയിരിക്കുന്നു; നിന്റെ വാഗ്ദത്തം കിട്ടും എന്നു ആശിച്ചു അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ ഒരുങ്ങി നില്ക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: So the chief captain then let the young man depart, and charged him, See you tell no man that you have showed these things to me.

Malayalam: നീ ഇതു എന്നോടു അറിയിച്ചു എന്നു ആരോടും മിണ്ടരുതു എന്നു സഹസ്രാധിപൻ കല്പിച്ചു യൌവനക്കാരനെ പറഞ്ഞയച്ചു.

English: And he called unto him two centurions, saying, Make ready two hundred soldiers to go to Caesarea, and horsemen threescore and ten, and spearmen two hundred, at the third hour of the night;

Malayalam: പിന്നെ അവൻ ശതാധിപന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരെ വരുത്തി: ഈ രാത്രിയിൽ മൂന്നാം മണിനേരത്തു കൈസര്യക്കു പോകുവാൻ ഇരുനൂറു കാലാളെയും എഴുപതു കുതിരച്ചേവകരെയും ഇരുനൂറു കുന്തക്കാരെയും ഒരുക്കുവിൻ.

English: And provide them beasts, that they may set Paul on, and bring him safe unto Felix the governor.

Malayalam: പൌലൊസിനെ കയറ്റി ദേശാധിപതിയായ ഫേലിക്സിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ക്ഷേമത്തോട എത്തിപ്പാൻ മൃഗവാഹനങ്ങളെയും സംഭരിപ്പിൻ എന്നു കല്പിച്ചു.

English: And he wrote a letter after this manner:

Malayalam: താഴെ പറയുന്ന വിധത്തിൽ ഒരു എഴുത്തും എഴുതി:

English: Claudius Lysias unto the most excellent governor Felix sends greeting.

Malayalam: ക്ളൌദ്യൊസ് ലുസിയാസ് രാജശ്രീ ഫേലിക്സ് ദേശാധിപതിക്കു വന്ദനം.

English: This man was taken of the Jews, and should have been killed of them: then came I with an army, and rescued him, having understood that he was a Roman.

Malayalam: ഈ പുരുഷനെ യെഹൂദന്മാർ പിടിച്ചു കൊല്ലുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോൾ റോമപൌരൻ എന്നു അറിഞ്ഞു ഞാൻ പട്ടാളത്തോടും കൂടെ നേരിട്ടു ചെന്നു അവനെ വിടുവിച്ചു.

English: And when I would have known the cause wherefore they accused him, I brought him forth into their council:

Malayalam: അവന്റെമേൽ കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്ന സംഗതി ഗ്രഹിപ്പാൻ ഇച്ഛിച്ചിട്ടു അവരുടെ ന്യായാധിപസംഘത്തിലേക്കു അവനെ കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു.

English: Whom I perceived to be accused of questions of their law, but to have nothing laid to his charge worthy of death or of bonds.

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ അവരുടെ ന്യായപ്രമാണം സംബന്ധിച്ചുള്ള തർക്കങ്ങളെക്കുറിച്ചു കുറ്റം ചുമത്തുന്നതല്ലാതെ മരണത്തിന്നോ ചങ്ങലെക്കോ യോഗ്യമായതു ഒന്നും ഇല്ല എന്നു കണ്ടു.

English: And when it was told me how that the Jews laid wait for the man, I sent immediately to you, and gave commandment to his accusers also to say before you what they had against him. Farewell.

Malayalam: അനന്തരം ഈ പുരുഷന്റെ നേരെ അവർ കൂട്ടുകെട്ടു ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു എന്നു തുമ്പുകിട്ടിയപ്പോൾ ഞാൻ തൽക്ഷണം അവനെ നിന്റെ അടുക്കലേക്കു അയച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു; അവന്റെ നേരെയുള്ള അന്യായം സന്നിധാനത്തിൽ ബോധിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വാദികളോടു കല്പിച്ചുമിരിക്കുന്നു; ശുഭമായിരിക്കട്ടെ.

English: Then the soldiers, as it was commanded them, took Paul, and brought him by night to Antipatris.

Malayalam: പടയാളികൾ കല്പനപ്രകാരം പൌലൊസിനെ കൂട്ടി രാത്രിയിൽ അന്തിപത്രിസോളം കൊണ്ടുചെന്നു,

English: On the next day they left the horsemen to go with him, and returned to the castle:

Malayalam: പിറ്റെന്നാൾ കുതിരച്ചേവകരെ അവനോടുകൂടെ അയച്ചു കോട്ടയിലേക്കു മടങ്ങിപോന്നു.

English: Who, when they came to Caesarea and delivered the epistle to the governor, presented Paul also before him.

Malayalam: മറ്റവർ കൈസര്യയിൽ എത്തി ദേശാധിപതിക്കു എഴുത്തു കൊടുത്തു പൌലൊസിനെയും അവന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ നിർത്തി.

English: And when the governor had read the letter, he asked of what province he was. And when he understood that he was of Cilicia;

Malayalam: അവൻ എഴുത്തു വായിച്ചിട്ടു ഏതു സംസ്ഥാനക്കാരൻ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. കിലിക്യക്കാരൻ എന്നു കേട്ടാറെ:

English: I will hear you, said he, when yours accusers are also come. And he commanded him to be kept in Herod's judgment hall.

Malayalam: വാദികളും കൂടെ വന്നു ചേരുമ്പോൾ നിന്നെ വിസ്തരിക്കാം എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു ഹെരോദാവിന്റെ ആസ്ഥാനത്തിൽ അവനെ കാത്തുകൊൾവാൻ കല്പിച്ചു.
