John 1

English: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Malayalam: ആദിയിൽ വചനം ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവത്തോടുകൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു; വചനം ദൈവം ആയിരുന്നു.

English: The same was in the beginning with God.

Malayalam: അവൻ ആദിയിൽ ദൈവത്തോടു കൂടെ ആയിരുന്നു.

English: All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

Malayalam: സകലവും അവൻ മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ഉളവായതു ഒന്നും അവനെ കൂടാതെ ഉളവായതല്ല.

English: In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

Malayalam: അവനിൽ ജീവൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ജീവൻ മനുഷ്യരുടെ വെളിച്ചമായിരുന്നു.

English: And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Malayalam: വെളിച്ചം ഇരുളിൽ പ്രകാശിക്കുന്നു; ഇരുളോ അതിനെ പിടിച്ചടക്കിയില്ല.

English: There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

Malayalam: ദൈവം അയച്ചിട്ടു ഒരു മനുഷ്യൻ വന്നു; അവന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ എന്നു പേർ.

English: The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

Malayalam: അവൻ സാക്ഷ്യത്തിന്നായി താൻ മുഖാന്തരം എല്ലാവരും വിശ്വസിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു വെളിച്ചത്തെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷ്യം പറവാൻ തന്നേ വന്നു.

English: He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Malayalam: അവൻ വെളിച്ചം ആയിരുന്നില്ല; വെളിച്ചത്തിന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറയേണ്ടുന്നവനത്രേ.

English: That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world.

Malayalam: ഏതു മനുഷ്യനെയും പ്രകാശിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സത്യവെളിച്ചം ലോകത്തിലേക്കു വന്നുകൊണ്ടിരുന്നു.

English: He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

Malayalam: അവൻ ലോകത്തിൽ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു; ലോകം അവൻ മുഖാന്തരം ഉളവായി; ലോകമോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല.

English: He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

Malayalam: അവൻ സ്വന്തത്തിലേക്കു വന്നു; സ്വന്തമായവരോ അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടില്ല.

English: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Malayalam: അവനെ കൈക്കൊണ്ടു അവന്റെ നാമത്തിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്ന ഏവർക്കും ദൈവമക്കൾ ആകുവാൻ അവൻ അധികാരം കൊടുത്തു.

English: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Malayalam: അവർ രക്തത്തിൽ നിന്നല്ല, ജഡത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലല്ല, പുരുഷന്റെ ഇഷ്ടത്താലുമല്ല, ദൈവത്തിൽ നിന്നത്രേ ജനിച്ചതു.

English: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Malayalam: വചനം ജഡമായി തീർന്നു, കൃപയും സത്യവും നിറഞ്ഞവനായി നമ്മുടെ ഇടയിൽ പാർത്തു. ഞങ്ങൾ അവന്റെ തേജസ്സ് പിതാവിൽ നിന്നു ഏകജാതനായവന്റെ തേജസ്സായി കണ്ടു.

English: John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spoke, He that comes after me is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Malayalam: യോഹന്നാൻ അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു സാക്ഷീകരിച്ചു: എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീർന്നു; അവൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞവൻ ഇവൻ തന്നേ എന്നു വിളിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And of his fullness have all we received, and grace for grace.

Malayalam: അവന്റെ നിറവിൽ നിന്നു നമുക്കു എല്ലാവർക്കും കൃപമേൽ കൃപ ലഭിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

Malayalam: ന്യായപ്രമാണം മോശെ മുഖാന്തരം ലഭിച്ചു; കൃപയും സത്യവും യേശുക്രിസ്തു മുഖാന്തരം വന്നു.

English: No man has seen God at any time, the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he has declared him.

Malayalam: ദൈവത്തെ ആരും ഒരുനാളും കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല; പിതാവിന്റെ മടിയിൽ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഏകജാതനായ പുത്രൻ അവനെ വെളിപ്പെടുത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: And this is the record of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, Who are you?

Malayalam: നീ ആർ എന്നു യോഹന്നാനോടു ചോദിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു യെഹൂദന്മാർ യെരൂശലേമിൽ നിന്നു പുരോഹിതന്മാരെയും ലേവ്യരെയും അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ അയച്ചപ്പോൾ അവന്റെ സാക്ഷ്യം എന്തെന്നാൽ: അവൻ മറുക്കാതെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു;

English: And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

Malayalam: ഞാൻ ക്രിസ്തു അല്ല എന്നു ഏറ്റു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And they asked him, What then? Are you Elijah? And he says, I am not. Are you that prophet? And he answered, No.

Malayalam: പിന്നെ എന്തു? നീ ഏലീയാവോ എന്നു അവനോടു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: അല്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. നീ ആ പ്രവാചകനോ? എന്നതിന്നു: അല്ല എന്നു അവൻ ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Then said they unto him, Who are you? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What says you of yourself?

Malayalam: അവർ അവനോടു: നീ ആരാകുന്നു? ഞങ്ങളെ അയച്ചവരോടു ഉത്തരം പറയേണ്ടതിന്നു നീ നിന്നെക്കുറിച്ചു തന്നേ എന്തു പറയുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

English: He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Isaiah.

Malayalam: അതിന്നു അവൻ: യെശയ്യാപ്രവാചകൻ പറഞ്ഞതുപോലെ: കർത്താവിന്റെ വഴി നേരെ ആക്കുവിൻ എന്നു മരുഭൂമിയിൽ വിളിച്ചുപറയുന്നവന്റെ ശബ്ദം ഞാൻ ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

Malayalam: അയക്കപ്പെട്ടവർ പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിലുള്ളവർ ആയിരുന്നു.

English: And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptize you then, if you be not that Christ, nor Elijah, neither that prophet?

Malayalam: എന്നാൽ നീ ക്രിസ്തുവല്ല, ഏലീയാവല്ല, ആ പ്രവാചകനും അല്ല എന്നു വരികിൽ നീ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നതു എന്തു എന്നു അവർ ചോദിച്ചു.

English: John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there stands one among you, whom all of you know not;

Malayalam: അതിന്നു യോഹന്നാൻ: ഞാൻ വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നു; എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ അറിയാത്ത ഒരുത്തൻ നിങ്ങളുടെ ഇടയിൽ നില്ക്കുന്നുണ്ടു;

English: He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe's latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

Malayalam: എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നവൻ തന്നേ; അവന്റെ ചെരിപ്പിന്റെ വാറു അഴിപ്പാൻ ഞാൻ യോഗ്യൻ അല്ല എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Malayalam: ഇതു യോർദ്ദന്നക്കാരെ യോഹന്നാൻ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരുന്ന ബേഥാന്യയിൽ സംഭവിച്ചു.

English: The next day John sees Jesus coming unto him, and says, Behold the Lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world.

Malayalam: പിറ്റെന്നാൾ യേശു തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു അവൻ കണ്ടിട്ടു: ഇതാ, ലോകത്തിന്റെ പാപം ചുമക്കുന്ന ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു;

English: This is he of whom I said, After me comes a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

Malayalam: എന്റെ പിന്നാലെ ഒരു പുരുഷൻ വരുന്നു; അവൻ എനിക്കു മുമ്പെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നതുകൊണ്ടു എനിക്കു മുമ്പനായി തീർന്നു എന്നു ഞാൻ പറഞ്ഞവൻ ഇവൻ തന്നേ.

English: And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

Malayalam: ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും അവൻ യിസ്രായേലിന്നു വെളിപ്പെടേണ്ടതിന്നു ഞാൻ വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാൻ വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

Malayalam: യോഹന്നാൻ പിന്നെയും സാക്ഷ്യം പറഞ്ഞതു: ആത്മാവു ഒരു പ്രാവുപോലെ സ്വർഗ്ഗത്തിൽനിന്നു ഇറങ്ങിവരുന്നതു ഞാൻ കണ്ടു; അതു അവന്റെ മേൽ വസിച്ചു.

English: And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizes with the Holy Spirit.

Malayalam: ഞാനോ അവനെ അറിഞ്ഞില്ല; എങ്കിലും വെള്ളത്തിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിപ്പാൻ എന്നെ അയച്ചവൻ എന്നോടു: ആരുടെമേൽ ആത്മാവു ഇറങ്ങുന്നതും വസിക്കുന്നതും നീ കാണുമോ അവൻ പരിശുദ്ധാത്മാവിൽ സ്നാനം കഴിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ ആകുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

Malayalam: അങ്ങനെ ഞാൻ കാണുകയും ഇവൻ ദൈവപുത്രൻ തന്നേ എന്നു സാക്ഷ്യം പറകയും ചെയ്തിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: Again the next day after John stood, and two of his disciples;

Malayalam: പിറ്റെന്നാൾ യോഹന്നാൻ പിന്നെയും തന്റെ ശിഷ്യന്മാരിൽ രണ്ടുപേരുമായി അവിടെ നില്ക്കുമ്പോൾ

English: And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he says, Behold the Lamb of God!

Malayalam: കടന്നുപോകുന്ന യേശുവിനെ നോക്കീട്ടു: ഇതാ, ദൈവത്തിന്റെ കുഞ്ഞാടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Malayalam: അവൻ പറഞ്ഞതു ആ രണ്ടു ശിഷ്യന്മാർ കേട്ടു യേശുവിനെ അനുഗമിച്ചു.

English: Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and says unto them, What seek all of you? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwell you?

Malayalam: യേശു തിരിഞ്ഞു അവർ പിന്നാലെ വരുന്നതു കണ്ടു അവരോടു: “നിങ്ങൾ എന്തു അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.” അവർ: റബ്ബീ, എന്നു വെച്ചാൽ ഗുരോ, നീ എവിടെ പാർക്കുന്നു എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു.

English: He says unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

Malayalam: അവൻ അവരോടു: “വന്നു കാണ്മിൻ ” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. അങ്ങനെ അവൻ വസിക്കുന്ന ഇടം അവർ കണ്ടു അന്നു അവനോടുകൂടെ പാർത്തു; അപ്പോൾ ഏകദേശം പത്താംമണി നേരം ആയിരുന്നു.

English: One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.

Malayalam: യോഹന്നാൻ പറഞ്ഞതു കേട്ടു അവനെ അനുഗമിച്ച രണ്ടുപേരിൽ ഒരുത്തൻ ശിമോൻ പത്രൊസിന്റെ സഹോദരനായ അന്ത്രെയാസ് ആയിരുന്നു.

English: He first finds his own brother Simon, and says unto him, We have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

Malayalam: അവൻ തന്റെ സഹോദരനായ ശിമോനെ ആദ്യം കണ്ടു അവനോടു: ഞങ്ങൾ മശീഹയെ എന്നുവെച്ചാൽ ക്രിസ്തുവെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, You are Simon the son of Jona: you shall be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Malayalam: അവനെ യേശുവിന്റെ അടുക്കൽ കൊണ്ടുവന്നു; യേശു അവനെ നോക്കി: “നീ യോഹന്നാന്റെ പുത്രനായ ശിമോൻ ആകുന്നു; നിനക്കു കേഫാ എന്നു പേരാകും” എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതു പത്രൊസ് എന്നാകുന്നു.

English: The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and finds Philip, and says unto him, Follow me.

Malayalam: പിറ്റെന്നാൾ യേശു ഗലീലെക്കു പുറപ്പെടുവാൻ ഭാവിച്ചപ്പോൾ ഫിലിപ്പോസിനെ കണ്ടു: “എന്നെ അനുഗമിക്ക” എന്നു അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

Malayalam: ഫിലിപ്പോസോ അന്ത്രെയാസിന്റെയും പത്രൊസിന്റെയും പട്ടണമായ ബേത്ത്സയിദയിൽ നിന്നുള്ളവൻ ആയിരുന്നു.

English: Philip finds Nathanael, and says unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

Malayalam: ഫിലിപ്പോസ് നഥനയേലിനെ കണ്ടു അവനോടു: ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തിൽ മോശെയും പ്രവാചകന്മാരും എഴുതിയിരിക്കുന്നവനെ കണ്ടെത്തിയിരിക്കുന്നു; അവൻ യോസേഫിന്റെ പുത്രനായ യേശു എന്ന നസറെത്തുകാരൻ തന്നേ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip says unto him, Come and see.

Malayalam: നഥനയേൽ അവനോടു: നസറെത്തിൽനിന്നു വല്ല നന്മയും വരുമോ എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. ഫിലിപ്പോസ് അവനോടു: വന്നു കാൺക എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and says of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

Malayalam: നഥനയേൽ തന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വരുന്നതു യേശു കണ്ടു: “ഇതാ, സാക്ഷാൽ യിസ്രായേല്യൻ; ഇവനിൽ കപടം ഇല്ല ” എന്നു അവനെക്കുറിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Nathanael says unto him, Whence know you me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.

Malayalam: നഥനയേൽ അവനോടു: എന്നെ എവിടെവെച്ചു അറിയും എന്നു ചോദിച്ചതിന്നു: “ഫിലിപ്പോസ് നിന്നെ വിളിക്കുംമുമ്പെ നീ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴിൽ ഇരിക്കുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ നിന്നെ കണ്ടു” എന്നു യേശു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Nathanael answered and says unto him, Rabbi, you are the Son of God; you are the King of Israel.

Malayalam: നഥനയേൽ അവനോടു: റബ്ബീ, നീ ദൈവപുത്രൻ, നീ യിസ്രായേലിന്റെ രാജാവു എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto you, I saw you under the fig tree, believe you? you shall see greater things than these.

Malayalam: യേശു അവനോടു: “ഞാൻ നിന്നെ അത്തിയുടെ കീഴിൽ കണ്ടു എന്നു നിന്നോടു പറകകൊണ്ടു നീ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നുവോ? നീ ഇതിനെക്കാൾ വലിയതു കാണും” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു.

English: And he says unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter all of you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

Malayalam: “ആമേൻ ആമേൻ ഞാൻ നിങ്ങളോടു പറയുന്നു: സ്വർഗ്ഗം തുറന്നിരിക്കുന്നതും മനുഷ്യപുത്രന്റെ അടുക്കൽ ദൈവദൂതന്മാർ കയറുകയും ഇറങ്ങുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നതും നിങ്ങൾ കാണും” എന്നും അവനോടു പറഞ്ഞു.
