Proverbs 28

English: The wicked flee when no man pursues: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

Malayalam: ആരും ഓടിക്കാതെ ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഓടിപ്പോകുന്നു; നീതിമാന്മാരോ ബാലസിംഹംപോലെ നിർഭയമായിരിക്കുന്നു.

English: For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

Malayalam: ദേശത്തെ അതിക്രമംനിമിത്തം അതിലെ പ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ പലരായിരിക്കുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയും പരിജ്ഞാനവും ഉള്ളവർ മുഖാന്തരമോ അതിന്റെ വ്യവസ്ഥ ദീർഘമായി നില്ക്കുന്നു.

English: A poor man that oppresses the poor is like a sweeping rain which left no food.

Malayalam: അഗതികളെ പീഡിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ വിളവിനെ വെച്ചേക്കാതെ ഒഴുക്കിക്കളയുന്ന മഴപോലെയാകുന്നു.

English: They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.

Malayalam: ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവർ ദുഷ്ടനെ പ്രശംസിക്കുന്നു; ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ കാക്കുന്നവരോ അവരോടു എതിർക്കുന്നു.

English: Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ന്യായം തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നില്ല; യഹോവയെ അന്വേഷിക്കുന്നവരോ സകലവും തിരിച്ചറിയുന്നു.

English: Better is the poor that walks in his uprightness, than he that is perverse in his ways, though he be rich.

Malayalam: തന്റെ വഴികളിൽ വക്രനായി നടക്കുന്ന ധനവാനെക്കാൾ പരമാർത്ഥതയിൽ നടക്കുന്ന ദരിദ്രൻ ഉത്തമൻ.

English: Whoso keeps the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous men shames his father.

Malayalam: ന്യായപ്രമാണത്തെ പ്രമാണിക്കുന്നവൻ ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള മകൻ; അതിഭക്ഷകന്മാർക്കു സഖിയായവനോ അപ്പനെ അപമാനിക്കുന്നു.

English: He that by interest and unjust gain increases his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

Malayalam: പലിശയും ലാഭവും വാങ്ങി സമ്പത്തു വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുന്നവൻ അഗതികളോടു കൃപാലുവായവന്നു വേണ്ടി അതു ശേഖരിക്കുന്നു.

English: He that turns away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Malayalam: ന്യായപ്രമാണം കേൾക്കാതെ ചെവി തിരിച്ചുകളഞ്ഞാൽ അവന്റെ പ്രാർത്ഥനതന്നെയും വെറുപ്പാകുന്നു.

English: Whoso causes the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

Malayalam: നേരുള്ളവരെ ദുർമ്മാർഗ്ഗത്തിലേക്കു തെറ്റിക്കുന്നവൻ താൻ കുഴിച്ച കുഴിയിൽ തന്നേ വീഴും; നിഷ്കളങ്കന്മാരോ നന്മ അവകാശമാക്കും.

English: The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that has understanding searches him out.

Malayalam: ധനവാൻ തനിക്കുതന്നേ ജ്ഞാനിയായി തോന്നുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിയുള്ള അഗതിയോ അവനെ ശോധന ചെയ്യുന്നു.

English: When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

Malayalam: നീതിമാന്മാർ ജയഘോഷം കഴിക്കുമ്പോൾ മഹോത്സവം; ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഉയർന്നുവരുമ്പോഴോ ആളുകൾ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു.

English: He that covers his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesses and forsakes them shall have mercy.

Malayalam: തന്റെ ലംഘനങ്ങളെ മറെക്കുന്നവന്നു ശുഭം വരികയില്ല; അവയെ ഏറ്റുപറഞ്ഞു ഉപേക്ഷിക്കുന്നവന്നോ കരുണലഭിക്കും.

English: Happy is the man that fears always: but he that hardens his heart shall fall into mischief.

Malayalam: എപ്പോഴും ഭയത്തോടിരിക്കുന്ന മനുഷ്യൻ ഭാഗ്യവാൻ; ഹൃദയത്തെ കഠിനമാക്കുന്നവനോ അനർത്ഥത്തിൽ അകപ്പെടും.

English: As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

Malayalam: അഗതികളിൽ കർത്തൃത്വം നടത്തുന്ന ദുഷ്ടൻ ഗർജ്ജിക്കുന്ന സിംഹത്തിന്നും ഇരതേടി നടക്കുന്ന കരടിക്കും തുല്യൻ.

English: The prince that wants understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hates covetousness shall prolong his days.

Malayalam: ബുദ്ധിഹീനനായ പ്രഭു മഹാ പീഡകനും ആകുന്നു; ദ്രവ്യാഗ്രഹം വെറുക്കുന്നവനോ ദീർഘായുസ്സോടെ ഇരിക്കും.

English: A man that does violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

Malayalam: രക്തപാതകഭാരം ചുമക്കുന്നവൻ കുഴിയിലേക്കു ബദ്ധപ്പെടും; അവനെ ആരും തടുക്കരുതു.

English: Whoso walks uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

Malayalam: നിഷ്കളങ്കനായി നടക്കുന്നവൻ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും; നടപ്പിൽ വക്രതയുള്ളവനോ പെട്ടെന്നു വീഴും.

English: He that tills his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that follows after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

Malayalam: നിലം കൃഷിചെയ്യുന്നവന്നു ആഹാരം സമൃദ്ധിയായി കിട്ടും; നിസ്സാരന്മാരെ പിൻചെല്ലുന്നവനോ വേണ്ടുവോളം ദാരിദ്ര്യം അനുഭവിക്കും.

English: A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that makes haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

Malayalam: വിശ്വസ്തപുരുഷൻ അനുഗ്രഹസമ്പൂർണ്ണൻ; ധനവാനാകേണ്ടതിന്നു ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നവന്നോ ശിക്ഷ വരാതിരിക്കയില്ല.

English: To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

Malayalam: മുഖദാക്ഷിണ്യം കാണിക്കുന്നതു നന്നല്ല; ഒരു കഷണം അപ്പത്തിന്നായും മനുഷ്യൻ അന്യായം ചെയ്യും.

English: He that hastes to be rich has an evil eye, and considers not that poverty shall come upon him.

Malayalam: കണ്ണുകടിയുള്ളവൻ ധനവാനാകുവാൻ ബദ്ധപ്പെടുന്നു; ബുദ്ധിമുട്ടു വരുമെന്നു അവൻ അറിയുന്നതുമില്ല.

English: He that rebukes a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flatters with the tongue.

Malayalam: ചക്കരവാക്കു പറയുന്നവനെക്കാൾ ശാസിക്കുന്നവന്നു പിന്നീടു പ്രീതി ലഭിക്കും.

English: Whoso robs his father or his mother, and says, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

Malayalam: അപ്പനോടോ അമ്മയോടോ പിടിച്ചുപറിച്ചിട്ടു അതു അക്രമമല്ല എന്നു പറയുന്നവൻ നാശകന്റെ സഖി.

English: He that is of a proud heart stirs up strife: but he that puts his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Malayalam: അത്യാഗ്രഹമുള്ളവൻ വഴക്കുണ്ടാക്കുന്നു; യഹോവയിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവനോ പുഷ്ടി പ്രാപിക്കും.

English: He that trusts in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walks wisely, he shall be delivered.

Malayalam: സ്വന്തഹൃദയത്തിൽ ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നവൻ മൂഢൻ; ജ്ഞാനത്തോടെ നടക്കുന്നവനോ രക്ഷിക്കപ്പെടും.

English: He that gives unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hides his eyes shall have many a curse.

Malayalam: ദരിദ്രന്നു കൊടുക്കുന്നവന്നു കുറെച്ചൽ ഉണ്ടാകയില്ല; കണ്ണു അടെച്ചുകളയുന്നവന്നോ ഏറിയൊരു ശാപം ഉണ്ടാകും.

English: When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.

Malayalam: ദുഷ്ടന്മാർ ഉയർന്നുവരുമ്പോൾ ആളുകൾ ഒളിച്ചുകൊള്ളുന്നു; അവർ നശിക്കുമ്പോഴോ നീതിമാന്മാർ വർദ്ധിക്കുന്നു.
